No gore, no murder & a happy ending ?

You don't get how these things work, do you ??
Yes I do. Last west end show I watched was Mamma Mia. It was ace. 8)

Not sure Mr GG would be to thrilled with that choice... Was wondering about Billy Elliott, anyone seen that?

Oh, coz he'll be just bursting to watch that one !!

Look, be honest .... cut to the chase and decide what you want to see. He'll smile & nod & pretend he's chuffed with the choice. You'll pretend you believe him & all will be well with the World.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Are you after musicals or straight drama, GG?

I believe that Helen Mirren is playing in 'The Audience' at the moment. It might be worth checking out the reviews if you're both interested in that sort of thing. No gore is involved as far as I know.

And based around a miners strike of course.. ( For what it's worth I enjoyed it and the closing scene was great film-making) :D

GG - I think that this has now finished its run at The Piccadilly, but it's about to tour. I see that it's in Wimbledon in early May if you can make that - I'd book now if you're going to do it. Not one for a schmaltzy story me, like, but apparently this is absolutely brilliant, and the special effects are mind-blowing, I hear.

Not a big fan of We Will Rock You, but then I don't like Queen.

Jersey Boys is my favourite jukebox musical. Amazing how many great hits they had and it's all packaged up really well.

Any skiers or boarders amongst us?

Do you wear a helmet? Ive gone skiing annually for about 15 years now and never worn one, but they are becoming more and more popular, infact mandatory in some resorts! When i think about it, i wear a helmet on my bike without thought, and i probably exceed speeds reached on my bike on skis. That snow isn’t always the nice and fluffy stuff, often its sheet ice like concrete plus i could lose control and hit a rock, tree or somebody else – and it dosent have to be my fault either, somebody could easily come hurtling into me one day. Seem pretty irresponsible not wearing one now. I don’t fancy it though, i get too hot in a bob hat! and your hearing suffers, plus the weight of them on your head all day and the bulk of carrying them, they are not cheap either!... Dilemma.

If you ski steep hills fast wear the helmet.

the other thing, im only taking hand luggage this year. a small case that fits in the gauge with my salopets, clean duds, socks, hats, gloves and a few t-shirts. the clothes on my back will do if i ever need to get changed (which rarely happens) and ill wear my coat to travel in. there wont be room for a helmet - would easyjet let me on board wearing it!?

To quote the salesman who sold me my first decent bike helmet:

"Hello, I'm Steve. So, Have you got a head worth fifty pounds or three hundred pounds"?

Now you are inventing excuses to avoid doing the sensible thing. Go ahead then - be stupid. Or attach the helmet to your bag by the strap.

nah, ive talked myself into it now. it would be tempting fate too much to not wear one after all that thought. i bought my brother one for xmas which i was thinking of borrowing but maybe ill just hire a sweaty smelly one over there, keep my hat on underneath it.

Well then Steve is a thieving con artist. Cos safety wise they both have to pass the same stringent tests.
