Re: Wine
William - you know the wine buff at Bobbins said that he won't stock anything that's available at Morrison's? Are we sure?

Re: Wine
If any Spanish wine lovers on here are interested Asda has got a few Reserva and Gran Reserva Riojas on special at the mo.
Not necessarily cheap, but very good value.

Wish I'd supped it all! Just found out a sneak thief has been in our garage and nicked about 20 bottles, mix of Tesco and Laithwaites. They could've left me one bottle for Sunday tea! In addition my quarterly Laithwaites box of reds just turned up so, all in all, here's to a very merry Christmas!

Re: Wine
Possibly. I'm just thinking myself lucky at the moment though as there is an unlocked internal door from garage to house. Could've been a whole lot worse. We live at the end of a culdesac with no passing foot traffic. Probably someone looking for scrap and finding £200 of wine instead.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Well, that sucks! First, commiserations.
Then, do you think, possibly, someone knew ?
Finally, that's a 'nice' haul .... expect a revist sometime.
Monty ... quite apart from the lost no-claims, the insurance will simply say it's his fault for not keeping it secure.

Re: Wine
How? Because twice I've had cars broken into, and despite me once having named and pointed the Police in the very direction of the person that had carried it out, I was palmed off with a FWIN rather than the arrest and conviction of the guilty party. Apparently that was all I really needed, apparently, according to GMP. So, did you get a FWIN or do they get the helicopter out when a Rozzer's wine's been robbed?clapton is god wrote: Lovin your sympathy, Bruce! How do you know about fwins?

Re: Wine
Co-Op currently has Brancott Estate Pinot Noir, which is usually around £11 there and everywhere else, on offer for £7.49 a pop.
Good value at that price, I would say.

Re: Wine
It seems a bit overpriced to me if you are talking 2011. It sells here for $9.00-16.00 (depending on provincial tax)- I've noted we tend to pay more for wine as a rule than is the case in the UK. I like some New Zealand whites but not a particular fan of their reds.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:Co-Op currently has Brancott Estate Pinot Noir, which is usually around £11 there and everywhere else, on offer for £7.49 a pop.

My girlfriend and I do like the New Zealand pinot noirs, most of which tend to come in at around the £10 mark in supermarkets.
