If he was a tactical genius, as someone"s just claimed on the radio, he'd have got it right from the start. But he rarely seems to.

Freedman's caution is starting to grate. It's disturbing that we only seem to perform after going behind, and it's disturbing that a defensive manager with a slightly defensive formation can allow his team to go behind so frequently. All too often we are so very slow out of the gates...

Exactly. It's not a sign of managerial ability to put out a mess of a team for 60 minutes, go 1-0 down and then make good changes. A good tactician would get the team playing well from the start, not change things when you're down with the clock ticking.
