What doesnt help also, is the fact that teams see us as a struggling team who they can get 3 points from if they "go at us" which seems to happen week in, week outtruewhite15 wrote:Well, that's Sam Ricketts starting at LB against Derby...
Freedman's caution is starting to grate. It's disturbing that we only seem to perform after going behind, and it's disturbing that a defensive manager with a slightly defensive formation can allow his team to go behind so frequently. All too often we are so very slow out of the gates...

Yes, but with the supposed ability in our squad, we should be able to weather those storms and still look as though we're coping. We're not. All too frequently we look as though we're hanging on, despite the fact that if we attack, the teams we're playing look very flimsy.gavlat2872 wrote:What doesnt help also, is the fact that teams see us as a struggling team who they can get 3 points from if they "go at us" which seems to happen week in, week outtruewhite15 wrote:Well, that's Sam Ricketts starting at LB against Derby...

Forest pushing full bore now Henderson heads a decent chance wide. Come on the ten.... Hit them on the break whilst they're pushing...Reid comes again and we get a goal kick. Doesn't sound like we really deserve the win, let's hope we can hold on for a point. Forest again and they win another corner. Cross hits MD then Bogdan saves But Mc Guigan offside. Here they go again but it gets to Eagles. Pratley getting the praise and a skier goes over Bogdan's bar.

Under seige time and not a Steven Segal in sight. Bogdan collects as five-minutes announced.

So we moaned our way through 12 months of a bloke who couldn't change the game from the touch line, now we don't like a bloke who can, Skd was and probably is our best 4-5-1 option in DF view , he tried Sordell last week and it didn't work! I couldn't agree more, i thought we'd do a Newcastle when we got relegated and actually be better for it. but unfortunately we simply dont have "prem quality" players. A big squad, yes. a good squad, no.truewhite15 wrote:Yes, but with the supposed ability in our squad, we should be able to weather those storms and still look as though we're coping. We're not. Straight red or second yellow for Alonso?

They come again and win a corner. Goal kick us and we're hanging on for our lives. C Davies wins a free thirty five yards out. COME ON....Offside gets them the ball back as the clock ticks. Craig Davies gets a yellow to outrage from Dougie as the liner gave nothing. N'ggputs it in the stand and the long throw is cleared by Bogdan. MOTM today from the sound of it.

Great, he can change it from the touchline, but he tends to do so only around the 60/70 minute mark, or whenever we go behind. Both Freedman and Coyle both have the same affectation of being unable to set up a game from the off, or adapt the performances within the first half.norm the jedi wrote:So we moaned our way through 12 months of a bloke who couldn't change the game from the touch line, now we don't like a bloke who can, Skd was and probably is our best 4-5-1 option in DF view , he tried Sordell last week and it didn't work! I'll be happy when we have a manager who starts well and if things go wrong, can adaptnorm the jedi wrote:So we moaned our way through 12 months of a bloke who couldn't change the game from the touch line, now we don't like a bloke who can, Skd was and probably is our best 4-5-1 option in DF view , he tried Sordell last week and it didn't work! Not good enough.
Not good enough at all.
K Davies cannot do the job anymore. The system must change.

Worth noting that Phil Brown says the mentality of the Bolton team is much improved from that of the start of the season.
I agree with him.
Starting Kevin Davies was a mistake IMO.
But we have ground out a point in difficult circumstances.
We need to do much more of that.

I'll take a point. Said I would have done before the match.
So the right result, but from the sound of things, the wrong performance again.

Decent away draw! Moved up a place! Game in hand still! Didn't concede at the end despite having a player sent off.

He did it after we conceded, he was happy with his point up to then, that may be an issue?truewhite15 wrote:Great, he can change it from the touchline, but he tends to do so only around the 60/70 minute mark, or whenever we go behind. Why change it if you are in the game... Or are you in the "with this squad in this league we should be hammering @@@ insert team name here @@@@" delusional section?
I'd have had a draw at 3 o'clock if offered, so would DF I suspect, upwards and onwards..
