I missed Saturday due to work and am also missing tomorrow night. First games I've had to miss this season. :(

Cyclists without lights piss me off as it's needless and careless. I once slowed up and shouted at some lad dressed all in black to "f*cking get some lights" when I didn't spot him at first. It was 23:30 on Xmas Eve as well

I hope it wasn't an undercover police officer or even worse the SAS on a mission after the defence cuts!

Pisses me off too. Cyclists have a tough time with ignorant drivers, but we need to help ourselves out as well.

Yep drivers do have a tough time with idiots who don't think a red light applies to them

Without going into too much detail today I'm angry about safety in the workplace.

Someone close to me works in education. Yesterday they were taking an assembly and someone else took her class. In this class is a child with severe Autism. This child regularly assaults teachers and other classmates and has been 'excluded' on a regular basis. Essentially the child should be in special schooling. The parents insist on keeping him at the school.

Yesterday this child kicked off. When he does this he has to be restrained and removed from the classroom (he has been known to throw chairs, tables and scissors at people). Yesterday however he managed to free his hand, grab a pencil and stab the teacher in the face, narrowly missing the teacher's eye.

I'm angry because of a number of things:

1. The parents who continually put this child in a school he doesn't want to be in because he is scared and can't cope.

2. The system which makes it virtually impossible to expel the child as no-one else will take him

3. The union which won't back teachers if they refuse to teach the child (they can be sacked if they do)

4. The fact that this could have happened to the person I know, and that I'm powerless to do anything to protect them. In the last few weeks they have been kicked, punched and headbutted by this child whilst trying to get him into a room where he can 'vent' without hurting anyone.

Surely they can go down the safeguarding route and case conference the child? This would take the decision out of the hands of the parents in effect. I'd suggest your friend documents his/her concerns for the welfare of the other children to the head and the Chair of Governors and take it from there.

When someone sends you a 'Meeting Minutes' the day after your meeting, and it bears no resemblance to what you actually discussed in the meeting!

That's why I never offer to take the minutes. I can't take the minutes AND listen at the same time.

it's always best to do the minutes BEFORE the meeting, I find.. if you can't - then it's a sure sign that the person who called the meeting or the person who chairs it has not prepared properly!

Is the correct answer.
I managed to get out of taking minutes by the very simple ruse of constantly having the agenda and the minutes say the exact same (and extremely limited) things.
That's not a leopard!

Almost as annoying as receiving minutes from a meeting you didn't attend, only to find out that "as agreed", you've been given loads of actions.
Hope is what keeps us going.

Or, as my US Company used to; presenting you with draft minutes as you enter the meeting !! Truly.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Do we not call that an agenda?

No .... these were fully formed minutes. Agenda items, standing order inputted data & 'results' and then summaries of the outcomes of discussions which had not yet happened but were, clearly, planned to take the line as written.

Objections were used as an opportunity to say you weren't a team player and/or were blocking progress. Obviously the final doc may show some changes, but the general storyline was written in advance.
