Looks good, although if you're doing a year on beans, you might just want to spend it all on an island.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:First proper holiday in about 5 years, so quite excited having booked here:
10 days of doing very little, other than snorkelling, reading and stuffing my face with good food. I will be spending the rest of the year eating beans on toast after paying the bill though

Just about to do something similar. We went to a funeral last week and there's nowt like one of them to remind you to live for the moment. So life savings are taking a twotting and we're booking 2 weeks in Namibia for September

Sounds fantastic HG. So many places to go and too little time. I'm not good with long flights, so trying to take advantage of being closer to Asia. Hope you have a great trip too.Harry Genshaw wrote:Looks awesome AT.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:First proper holiday in about 5 years, so quite excited having booked here:

Lucky bugger. Are you just staying on Oahu or travelling around? When we went we stayed on Hawaii (Big Island) Kauai and Oahu for three nights each. Didn't make Maui so have that planned for a couple of years time.
Do try and do Pearl Harbour. It's an awe inspiring day and very moving.
If you get to the Irish Rose Saloon in Oahu say hi to the McGraw Brothers from Chicago. They are (were) the house band and a great laugh.
I is wel jel.

The line-up looks great for that. I may look at just going for one of the days as it'll be a busy weekend for me.Bruce Rioja wrote:I fancy going to that Festival in Kendal and then staying up there for a few extra days. I Am Kloot are on on one of the nights
Anyway, after a shitty start to 2013 for a load of reasons, I'm off to France tomorrow to catch up with a mate living out there. 9 days in the Dordogne and Loire Valley to drink and eat and be away from it all. Can't fookin wait!

We're staying in Honolulu. Hadn't thought about travelling to the other islands this time, is it worth it?Gary the Enfield wrote:hi there, i'm chris wrote:Maldives? Looks amazing.

Our hotel is on the beach infront of Diamond Head, and looks pretty close to Pearl Habour, it's definitely on the to do list. The other islands look stunning and definitely something I want to do in the future but chose Honolulu as I don't think you can go wrong with it with the looks of it.

Re: Summer Holidays
The time has finally come! Off tomorrow bright and early for Tampa (via Chicago of all places). Then on the Carnival Legend for a week visiting Cozumel (Tulum), Belize, Roatan Island (Honduras) and Grand Cayman. It's the first time I've flown to the US in three years and there were some nasty changes and surprises. I'm a dual citizen and travel with a Canadian citizenship card and a UK passport - while this caused no problems for fifty odd years I now need an ESTA (because they can't trust the Brits). An ESTA is permission to enter from visa waiver countries, although one can still get rejected at the border. I'll have to get a Canadian Passport for future trips. They want you at the airport three hours before departure time - really why? The airlines has informed us they charge $25 for each bag checked per trip, and they've sent instructions for allowable dimensions. Still if we survive getting to Tampa, things should be okay. Of course Carnival doesn't have the best track record - engines catching fire, missing the Mediterranean and hitting Italy, etc. The most relaxing part is that I miss the next two BWFC games without even access to Radio Tango - my nails may grow and my underwear remain unbricked, which will be nice. I doubt I'll even get the results until I'm back in Montreal.

Bloody hell, monty. Bad news
what is the situation for you, then? Have the company issued a statement or have you been contacted at all with the status of your cruise?
