I wanted something which would test the range of the new amp & the Sonos stuff. TB certainly does that.thebish wrote:CrazyHorse wrote:Maybe it was just her neighbour hitting his cat with a guitar?Lost Leopard Spot wrote:My mother lives in Abergele and she was just saying on the phone last night that she could distinctly hear some Genesis drifting over from Wrexham way.![]()

Anyway, give a re-hearing, you'd be surprised.
... & the moment Viv Stanshall says " .... Tubular Bells" and then the "ding-dongs" start is really quite a moment (a good 17 min in, btw)

Oh don't you worry. One will too surge into a barrage.
I looked the Devil in the eye, shook hands with him and he gave me free video conferencing software, so there you go.

Re: Technology Thread.
Anyone know owt about waterproof cameras? Looking to get one for the upcoming holiday. Will use it whilst snorkelling and for general point and shoot use. Currently looking at the Canon D20 and the Olympus TG1. Both seem to be decent without spending ridiculous money. Anyone with experience of them, or things to look out for?
Cheers...

Re: Technology Thread.
remember to wash them off coz the saltwater knacks the rubber seals and even taints parts of the metal if yr not careful, never go rushing to DL the pictures- always give it chance to dry coz of the salt before opening the usb port or removing the sd card. and dont go too deep, as long as they dont get water in, it should last.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Anyone know owt about waterproof cameras? also, pentax do one and have done for ages , and panasonic lumix do 'em now too.
some folk like the "shell" things but the two ^ i looked at were 'only' sub-£200 . so the shell things might be too expensive, when you can just replace the 'specificly built to be waterproof' ones.

Re: Technology Thread.
I've got a Sony Cybershot with a "shoot underwater in natural colours with housing" feature. I'm assuming the housing is something you buy, but doubt I'll be chancing it anyway.

Thanks a1. I'll be sure to be careful with it. The ones I'm looking at go to 10m, which to be fair would probably mean I've drowned! I'll be bobbing around the surface trying to find Nemo mainlya1 wrote:remember to wash them off coz the saltwater knacks the rubber seals and even taints parts of the metal if yr not careful, never go rushing to DL the pictures- always give it chance to dry coz of the salt before opening the usb port or removing the sd card. and dont go too deep, as long as they dont get water in, it should last.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Anyone know owt about waterproof cameras? Re: Technology Thread.
I think I'd prefer one without housing. Just seems a bit less faff to just pick the camera up and jump in. I'd also be worried in case I didn't close the housing properly. I have an old Canon G3 which was fantastic and an old Olympus OM10 SLR, so feel more comfortable sticking with those brands unless there is some compelling reason to go with something else.TANGODANCER wrote:I've got a Sony Cybershot with a "shoot underwater in natural colours with housing" feature. Re: Technology Thread.
Just bought and fitted a Sky wi-fi connector to my Sky box. Totally transforms the On Demand side of the box. Instead of a dozen or so films previously available I now have access to a back catalogue of over 700 films, box sets and all the catch-up channels too. Cost just £21 direct from the Sky website.
Apologies if this sounds like an advert for Sky but this is the best £21 I've spent in ages!
