I don't want to defend Benitez (or Bobo will have me shot), but at 2-0 down, his substitutions this afternoon were met with shouts of "you don't know what you're doing" from the Chelsea faithful, only for one of the subs to score a cracker and they eventually pull it back to 2-2 and should have won it.

I get your point but Hazard is hardly a shocking brilliant sub. In fact rather surprised he wasn't starting on the pitch and not on the bench. It would be similar to us playing a game a few years back and having Anelka on the bench, then getting credit for the amazing sub if he came on the pitch and scored.

Everton will be fine when Moyes leaves. Maybe not as high up, but they wont be in danger of dropping unless they appoint someone mental. There's a £15million pound central midfielder in that team, and their left back would be our third biggest signing ever.

I know folk who've worked with him who say he is not particularly subtle. All hard work and kicking the fook out of folk. Done a good job there, but I'm convinced he'd be an absolute flop at a big club.

I honestly don't follow Chelsea that closely, so you might well be right. Just made me laugh that the fans criticised his subs then had to eat humble pie. Unless of course they were criticising his inability to select the right team in the first place.

Btw, as the Utd fans left early, I like the Chelsea fan's chant of "We'll race you back to London".

Maybe they want entertainment. Maybe they won't mind losing more often as long as they get to be entertained. Maybe they might even wouldn't be that arsed about relegation because they'll be there next season visiting new grounds and doing something other than cheating to gain shit points whenever the opportunity arises.

I'd not say nothing like, but I agree it's not entirely the same.

I think the sentiment of "careful what you wish for" does apply though.

They could go on and move up a level.

I suspect at best they'll stay where they are, and more than likely their results will suffer.

They may be bored, but what realistically, can Everton achieve? A cup, perhaps. But lots of sides are looking for one of those and it's not like a new manager makes winning one any more likely all of a sudden.

I know there is the whole "David Moyes a good manager is a myth" thing that goes round and seemingly Everton fans are now subscribing to that theory too. But it will be interesting to see who they get and what sort of job they do. I think Everton fans may well be in for a shock.

A more direct comparison with us, would be Stoke. A lot of their fans want shot of Pulis. Everton will more often than not, be around the higher reaches of the Prem but outside the top 4. Stoke could well drop the minute they change style & manager.

They're form is poor. But 1 win is all they'll need IMO.
