Birthday ends on a bum note. Just had to have our cat, Gimley, put to sleep. It had been coming, but man, I feel hollow.

It's horrible, truewhite15, and many of us have been through it. You have my sympathy.

Re: Today I'm neither Angry nor Happy about....
This week leading up to Easter I'm in Manchester for a series of meetings.
Yesterday I drove which was fine coming in but an absolute ballache when the final meeting finished at 5.30 getting home.
So today decided to brave the trains.
Now apart from the appalling state of the train, the overcrowding and the shockingly rude train staff it was relatively painless.
However, the number of people on their phones at 7.15am shocked me. Who are they all talking to, and why? Not texting or emailing but actually having a conversation. I don't understand it.

It doesn't just happen during 09:00 to 17:00 (noting respectfully, that you didn't finish until 17:30 yesterday)

Perhaps, but I tend to doubt that these were work calls judging by the type of conversations I overheard...........Worthy4England wrote:It's called work.BWFC_Insane wrote:This week leading up to Easter I'm in Manchester for a series of meetings.

Doesn't that answer the who they were all talking to and why question then? They're on the 'phone to their mates/wives/girlfriends maybe?BWFC_Insane wrote:Perhaps, but I tend to doubt that these were work calls judging by the type of conversations I overheard...........Worthy4England wrote:It's called work.BWFC_Insane wrote:This week leading up to Easter I'm in Manchester for a series of meetings.

I've just thought of an app. It could have made me gazillions if I could be bothered doing anything about it. It's a false-phonecall-app. Basically when sitting on a train at 7:15 in the morning (or anywhere else at any time of the day) and getting jealous of all the phone calls taking place around one, one could call up *select character - friend/lover/wife/relative/boss* and the character would inject random phrases into a 'phone conversation' you'd have. It wouldn't actually be a phone conversation, and therefore wouldn't cost you any money, but you could 'chat' away to your heart's content. What a splendid idea.

The worst thing is when cyclists come on the train and expect you to give up those 3 seats near the entrance for their f*cking bike, I paid for a ticket and your bike didn't!BWFC_Insane wrote:This week leading up to Easter I'm in Manchester for a series of meetings.

Had a really embarrassing 7am argument with a bloke once on the train about it 'if you're that keen then why not cycle to work instead' in front of a packed commuter train

Troll and proud of it.
