Re: Charlton away
I still think the utter c*nt of a ref had something to do with it. 2 men sent off for 2 yellows each. 6 altogether from 14 fouls. 3 for them from 12. (Beeb stats admittedly.)
Somehow I doubt the match resembled that Portugal/Holland game, because in my eyes that's what would require cards like that.
So like I said, utter c*nt.

Re: Charlton away
I was saying that the majority of the 7 minutes of stoppage time was due to the linesman being replaced, rather than the ref being all over the place. That's not to say that the ref wasn't a c*nt. What's not to understand?Jakerbeef wrote:Burnden Paddock wrote:Or, a stoppage in play whilst the linesman was replaced.Jakerbeef wrote:7 mins injury time sounds like the ref being all over the place.
Down to 9 men now.

Please would the "We're only X points behind" brigade do themselves a favour and work out what we need to do to obtain 70 - 75 points.
Pretty please.

Weren't the Charlton fans bemoaning the fact that he was reffing pre-match? Sounds like he may have owed them one, or maybe two.Jakerbeef wrote:http://www.football-lineups.com/referee/282/

Re: Charlton away
Why do we look to blame the referee, as someone who played sport to a decent level. Players actions put referees in a position to have to make decisions. Referees get less decisions wrong in a game than players do. Both teams had the same referee Charltons players didn't ask the referee to make decisions.Jakerbeef wrote:I still think the utter c*nt of a ref had something to do with it. 2 men sent off for 2 yellows each. 6 altogether from 14 fouls. 3 for them from 12. Jim Telfor said there are two types of sportsmen, the honest player and the rest. The honest player looks to find fault in himself than blame others for his failings or the teams failings on someone else.

It's a shitter.
Our away form needs sorting. About the worst in the league.
I think it was always a long shot for the play-offs but we probably need to start focussing on next season.

21 points from the 7 remaining.. The likely hood of needing 75 points to get into the play offs is looking unlikely everybody is dropping points and nobody in the top 9 (expect cardiff) are in good form...Whookam wrote:Please would the "We're only X points behind" brigade do themselves a favour and work out what we need to do to obtain 70 - 75 points.

Re: Charlton away
Bollocks, bollocks, bollocks.
We started like a train and could have been 3-0 in 7 mins. It looked like a Premiership side against League One cannon fodder.
Then their left winger started to give Ricketts a hard time, and we concede the soft goal.
How Ricketts was sent off is anyone's guess - I don't think either was a booking. The ref was off the pace and way too keen with his cards, against us at any rate.
But ultimately it's out fault - we should have defended the resulting freekick better and pulled the shutters down for 10 mins. It reminded of Utd against Real - a very poor reaction for the first ten minutes after an unjust red. Always a big ask after that. For Craig Davies to go as well was a joke. Never two yellows either, even if did get involved where he shouldn't have for his first.
Still haven't seen us win this year.
Thanks for the ticket, Enoch (our resident lothario - good luck with the raven-haired beauty at the next away game!).

ricketts is crap.
knight's miles better.
folk that want zatman banning are not looking at the form of the players properly.

Re: Charlton away
The ref is a disgrace and doesn't know his arse from his elbow. In addition to an earlier post which shows a sheaf of reds, yellows and penalties. The Football League need to take a long hard look at this fella.

Re: Charlton away
Maybe he is a bad ref, but he is the same for both sides, we got two players sent off they didn't. I'm sure DF prepared the players in the knowledge of what he was like. Ricketts shouldn't of made the challenge on a yellow card, and risk the sending off maybe we should of Subbed him earlier.Gravedigger wrote:The ref is a disgrace and doesn't know his arse from his elbow. Blaming the ref just deflects from the fact we were two nil up, and we lost the game!! Not the referee we Bolton Wanderers were not good enough over Two halves of football. Anything else does not matter, we can manage our performance and improve our performance we can do Zilch about the refs performance.
