stuey in Yorkshire...
had a look on the sheff weds forum today to see what they thought of him...
first thread is about his missus!
but there is some about how he played today..

Is nowhere near ready for these games in my opinion.
A passenger again today.
His game is all about athleticism and strong running and he is still lacking in that department.
Lee is a far better option.
Thought he did alright.
Would love to see him fully fit though.
I agree, Holden really isn't up to it and didn't do anything of note. He definitely needs a lot of time to get fit, not sure if our relegation battle is the place for him to do that.
option to buy???Thought he contributed more today than the Barnsley game, where he was a passenger.....but he did okay today.
We might have the option to buy, so giving him game time might be in our best interest.

Didnt see him today, but I certainly thought this against Barnsley. There's no doubting his quality when fit, but will he be here long enough to get to that stage?
I'd prefer to see McCabe in there if Holden isn't fit, but I suppose its catch 22 if we are trying to get him up to speed.
Holden is nowhere near fit and probably won't get there now, it's all about next season for him.
He's only here till 24th April (i think) and i don't think he is/was gonna have an amazing impact while he's here.
He is a very good play tho but you really need him fully fit to get the most out of him.
It was waste of time having him on the pitch today, I have no doubt he is a good player, he looked it in the prem but not what we want right now!
Fvcking awesome.......
On FIFA that is.

He did ok, it's another body for the run in
needs game time to get upto scratch - is it something we can afford to do though - the guy has quality, no doubt about that though but his fitness is sorely lacking
He's a good player and will get better with games. I'd pick him over Lee in midfield every time.
not really the right fit for us.
I think he is technically good but isn't suited to the hurley burley physical type of game we play.
get it on the deck, he will be our best midfielder
Re: stuey in Yorkshire...
Interesting. I thought he had done o.k. in his first game. He didn't dress for the next match, and I believe this was his third match. Let's hope the manager has a different opinion and keeps playing him.

Fitness is what he is lacking....
Don't think Sheff Wed is the right option...
I don't think he will be anywhere near where he was previous....
His other half is fit.......

Re: stuey in Yorkshire...
Not sure I'm that bothered about how well he is playing for them, we all know he is a quality player, our reason for him being on loan is to get him fit. If we can do that and make the play offs he could well be there for us in them last few games. I've not seen anything anywhere on new contracts, any info on that?

As a side note, I notice that Jermaine Johnson had his one game in ten yesterday. Scored a couple of very nice goals too.

Dougie said he wants to sign him so I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign when he comes back from his loan...Madrigal wrote:Not sure I'm that bothered about how well he is playing for them, we all know he is a quality player, our reason for him being on loan is to get him fit. We shouldn't be too bothered about the comments from the Wednesday fans he's not there to be a match winner he's there to run around for an hour and get fit... which he's doing, once he comes back to us fully fit we'll want to see match winner Stu.

Holden was rarely a 'match winner' but more an all action, mainly ball winning midfield player.
He needs game time.
We are never going to see the Holden of old, but hopefully he will find a way to adapt.

They've been playing him on the right apparently
Re: stuey in Yorkshire...
I like Holden and it would be great to see him back playing good football. Whether he's part of Bolton's future or not is a question mark though.
Contract wise I would imagine the two parties start some distance apart and I doubt the club will be up for too much negotiation. Also Freedman, who has no history with Holden, may well have his own plans for that role in the side. We've already recruited Kamara and I fancy there's another of that type at the top of the shopping list. We also have a few others that offer good cover.
Will be a shame if we never see him at his best in a Bolton shirt again, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me.

Freedman said when Holden went on loan that they were in 'advanced stages of contract negotiations' and that 'both sides expect and want it to happen'.Enoch wrote:I like Holden and it would be great to see him back playing good football. The Holden of old, paired wuith Mido would be like the good old days with him & the Moo, except that Mido can actually find a white shirt.
Obviously a lot of ifs & buts, but nonetheless it's a tasty prospect.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Holden is quick to add that there is no intention of the loan turning into a permanent move. Bolton has been in talks with Holden about a new contract with the player stating that all that's left is "an end-stage negotiation."
So there's that.

indeed! he had a shit-hot spell - but (I believe) was binned off from Barnsley last year for "fitness issues"...Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:...who we also nearly signed, back in the day.
