Tales of Excess..

Post by Andy Waller » Thu Apr 11, 2013 9:52 am

I was talking to my mate about Sasa Curcic and his "fun-bus". My mate had never heard of this, but said Circic used to wait in his bright yellow Ferrari outside Ritzy, pick up a young yady, have a fondle in a nearby car park, drop her of at the taxi rank then "rinse and repeat" if you will..

Anyone any stories about players past or present?

(Slow day at work...)

Used to see him in it, parking it wherever the feck he saw fit. A bright yellow 3 series convertible. He looked a right nice person.

This is the man who retired earlier than he may have done with the stated dual aims of "becoming involved in Serbian politics .... and pleasuring women !!"
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

I miss him already. And I was only a youngster and not even a Bolton fan then.

I couldn't wait to see the back of him. I've never known any single player, before or since, pull a team so out of shape just to fuel his own look-at-me-I'm-George-Best ego quite like him.

About sums him up. Beat three men, go back for another go and lose the ball. Egotist.

Complete loon, great to watch at times but as you say not a team player. Remember a classic goal at Hillsborough one season, but we still got dicked on and I nearly wrote my dad's car off on the way home. He probably wasn't to blame for that though.

Me & some mates were once in the Gaiety bars in about '78-79; (So long ago I forget). 12.30ish in the morning, on a friday night/ Sat morn, watching Worthy and Peter Reid trying to chat up some women. Reidy fell over and couldn't stand up on his own, was helped up and the pair meandered out of the place. Next day, ( I forget who against  ) it was like watching the '70's equivalent of Xavi and Ronaldo playing. Beer was the food of champions then.........................

Football was far more fun then.

Many tales of the beer drinking core from Ron's red army...

Football's always been a tale of excess. Go to a footballers' gents evening and you'll get plenty of "revelations".

Great memory - I was racking my brains to remember who'd penned that one...
