.... absolutely corrct. Later, proper analysis of that match showed that the Barcodes actually put in more long-baalls than we did, but the mud stuck.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Can't remember what season it was but I always seem to remember the turning point in our PR was beating Souness's Newcastle at home, when they had (funnily enough) Robbie Elliott at centre-back so we not unreasonably pinged in a few high balls. We won, Souey lost his rag and sourly criticised us, and a few Bolton wins later it became an easy managerial excuse that we were terrifying to play against.
Like how we were a squad of giant mercenaries too.
Giants like Ricardo Gardner, Stelios, JJ, Charlton, Barness, Youri, Nolan and many more.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Not being promoted would be a bad thing of course. We'll miss out on the riches of the Premier League which we so desperately need - Even if we went straight back down again.

It was 'later' in the sense that it was two minutes later as Allardyce had the stats on hand directly as they asked him about Souness' comments. One of my fav big Sam moments that: 'What do you make of that moustachioed wanker's comments?' 'Bish bash bosh'.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

We're in trouble now - I've put the playoff final date in my calendar.

We're not getting promoted. I'm running the BUPA 10k in London on that day. So we won't be anywhere near Wembley. Fact.

That's the underquote of the feckin century (both this and the one gone). It'll need anti-jinxing on a scale never attempted before.

I can feel them from here, and I'm both married and thousands of miles away. We need to combine that with Dujon's knickers, 2399's digital pants and Monty's well worn but magic kecks to have a chance!Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:I'll wear my lucky pants tomorrow. Is this some sort of Bermuda Shorts Triangle sort of thing where lucky pants the world over join forces against optimism?Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I can feel them from here, and I'm both married and thousands of miles away. I would consider not getting promoted a bad thing . . . it's less than satisfying following every game via BBC text commentary.
