You also said that you now, after beating Huddersfield, Wolves and Bristol in straight games, don't believe we'll get promoted. You stated this AFTER we won against Bristol, thereby getting into the top six for the first time all season. You'll forgive me if I don't take you entirely seriously from now on.gizmothevoomer wrote:I gave us 7 Pointstruewhite15 wrote:gizmothevoomer wrote:Final Table

Leicester Out of it on 63 Pts
I don't believe Bolton have the ability and quality to get Three points against Leicester battling to stay in the mix or Cardiff required for us to pip Forest.
When I wrote at beginning of Feb that we could make it to challenge for a play off spot I believed we could get there. Now I just don't bottom line is we have to win on Tuesday to have a chance. Any of the five listed above could make it as long as the have the belief and mental strength. All have the ability but now it is about mental strength and belief.
We have been given a chance due to other teams dropping points, now we have to take it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really? I mean...really???
The teams around us have been haemorraging points recently. Avoid defeat at Leicester, beat Boro and 'Pool, and nick summat at Cardiff. Doable, very doable to get 7 or 8 from these last 6 games and sneak a playoff place.

Re: 4 Games to go
Should,nt be worrying about any team in this League. We have better players than most,it,s now down to,(how much those players want it). It,,s now very simple, win our remaining games and nobody can do anything to affect us.I fully expect to win on Tuesday, although Leicester will have a say on that.Cardiff are now 1 point from promotion,so they,re done + dusted. Our squad is more than capable of winning the next 4 games..COYWM

So how many points do you see us getting? And where does that points total have us finishing?truewhite15 wrote:You also said that you now, after beating Huddersfield, Wolves and Bristol in straight games, don't believe we'll get promoted. Re: 4 Games to go
As I've said, I see us getting 7 or 8. I can see that getting us into the playoffs. I'm reluctant to do the predictor game on the BBC as we seem to have lost immediately after I've tried it every time. Thus, I can't give you an accurate estimate on our final position with 8 points added on our current total.
My point was that you say now, tonight, after a win that takes us into the playoff spots, that we've no chance of getting into the playoffs. Do you not see how that sounds a bit dim? Overly pessimistic, perhaps?

Re: 4 Games to go
Our next 2 games are against sides in free fall who cant buy a win (or in Boro's case a goal).
Now we all know what happens when sides in this kind of form come up against us don't we? Don't we?
It's been a nice run while it's lasted. Lets look forward to next season now

Re: 4 Games to go
I hope I'm wrong, we are not to far apart with you thinking we will get 7 or 8 points me giving us 7 points. If we win against Leicester I can see us going unbeaten and cruising to play offs ( At moment I just don't see us winning that game it is to big for Leicester ).truewhite15 wrote:As I've said, I see us getting 7 or 8. I think we need another of the play off contenders to throw a few points away for us to make the play offs.
It may make me appear dim but no more so than when I suggested we could be play off contenders at the beginning of Febuary.

Something for the stattos among us:
Top 5 offensive teams goals / match
1 Watford 1.86
2 Cardiff City 1.62
3 Crystal Palace 1.63
4 Bolton Wanderers 1.48
5 Leicester City 1.48
Top 5 defensive teams goals / match
1 Leicester City 0.95
2 Cardiff City 0.98
3 Brighton 0.98
4 Hull City 1.12
5 Bolton Wanderers 1.29
Means jack shit, but it does suggest we're worth a spot.

Well, no. Not if it means jack shit. If it means jack shit, it suggests it's worthless.Enoch wrote:Means jack shit, but it does suggest we're worth a spot.

Re: 4 Games to go
personally just will enjoy us being in this position. still think with the two tough away games it's going to be hard.
if we won on tuesday and forest or brighton slip up it's going to start looking like we'll make it.
the thing is i can't get too nervous or stressed over it, because if we make it........that's just when the hard work begins.

It's our destiny to be 7th, with only GD deciding between us and the 6th team. Doomed.

Re: 4 Games to go
Got me calculator last night and it looks like we're on exactly 1.5 PPG for the season! Extrapolate that and it's an extra 6 points, is that enough? Maybe we need to take the PPG of the latest 10 or so games? Domed if we do, domed if we don't!
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.
