Hardly much chance of that unless Palace have a real wobble.....

I will settle for 6th. Won't help you like!
They are doing! I bet their fans are shitting it they won't even make the playoffs way they are going. Certainly us Forest and Brighton are in much better form, but they've got 3 points, a game in hand and goal difference. Bet they're claiming to be 'domed' on the-palace.co.uk though.

Did a wildly optimistic predictor session that put us 4th and them 7th. This would be quite surprising in reality though.

They've got to go away to Ipswich (maybe Mick will benefit our season after all) Blackburn and then Millwall, who'd love to bend them over. And at home they've got leicester and Peterborough. And they haven't won in 5. You never know.

Crystal Palace are in the battle, no two ways about it for me. Three points clear and boasting a run that shows no wins in five, and two straight losses. This is as tight as it gets.

Agreed. Brighton, us and Forest will finish above them, I think. They're doing horribly at the moment and their best player isn't turning up for them.

I don't believe Bolton have the ability and quality to get Three points against Leicester battling to stay in the mix or Cardiff required for us to pip Forest.

When I wrote at beginning of Feb that we could make it to challenge for a play off spot I believed we could get there. Now I just don't bottom line is we have to win on Tuesday to have a chance. Any of the five listed above could make it as long as the have the belief and mental strength. All have the ability but now it is about mental strength and belief.

We have been given a chance due to other teams dropping points, now we have to take it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So when we are sitting 20th on the table you give us a chance? And now we are 6th you don't? Very strange thinking my man! :)

I've got a different opinion to gizmo here, I think we are in with a very good chance of qualifying, but what he's saying is that we've not really picked up enough points between then and now given our fairly tough final 4 game run in, which is a very valid point. It is much closer than it should be with our thrown leads and such.
What I am saying is on current form I can see us getting 7 Pts, unfortunately on current form I see other teams doing better. However if some teams lose their nerve then 7 Pts maybe enough, if we pick up 3 wins instead of 2 and a draw it could come down to goal difference.

Historically 70 points has been good enough for a play off place once, This year will be the lowest points total for 4th and 5th maybe we can sneak in with 70Pts. If we beat Leicester we should do it, just can't see that happening at the moment, if either team loses then it will be hard to pick themselves up for the last three games.

If we lose to Leicester we are only 2 points behind them or one win. If they lose then they are 5 behind us. More important for Leicester than us.

Who is to say all the playoff contenders won't lose every game from now until the end of the season? Impossible to read.

Do you need to have 'played sport, not football, at a high level' to be so full of shit

Our form is the best in the league

Doesn't mean bollocks, though

I know what you mean, in this league, owt can happen. But I'd rather be on form than not at this stage.

Interesting thought, say we beat Leicester tomorrow night, they may then feel it's all over for them and give up the ghost against Palace and Forest.

On the other hand a draw that keeps them interested, and they could take points off those two.....

Hmmm.

Another thought.. We all seem to want Wolves to go down, which isn't unreasonable...

But they visit Brighton on the final day.. Let's hope they've got something to play for, because I reckon it'll go that far.

One thing I'm annoyed with Dougie for is ruining my fecking sleep.

For the past two years and a bit (probably since we lost 5-0 to Stoke) I've been able to watch us with weary resignation or anger at how badly we were managed. But rarely, if ever hope. Even last season I just felt we were going. Even when we won games I just felt we wouldn't stop up. So I could watch without too much hope, in the event we surprised me, it would be a massive bonus. A pleasant surprise. And I didn't think about the Wanderers much outside of on this forum and the games. I almost compartmentalised them.

Now I can't sleep for thinking about league tables, fixtures possible outcomes and the like. I'm sitting at work, nervous about tomorrow night and wondering whether I can make it down there if I cancel a meeting (a few months ago the thought wouldn't have crossed my mind), fairweather fan for away games now I'm afraid.......

I'm excited, nervous and well hopeful. Fecking hope.

And all this is only about whether we make the play-offs or not. Imagine if we actually do make them?

So yeah, I'm decided. Dougieout. Lets get some useless fecker back so I can properly relax again.

Well, quite – it's all to play for Brian, I mean Boris. Barnsley v Huddersfield on the last day, for instance.

Intrigued to see Palace being caught by the (erratic) pack. Entirely possible that within 48hrs they'll be behind their dreaded rivals and only above us and Forest on GD. http://www.leagueslider.com/championship-2012-13" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Another thought: if we finish fifth or sixth and are therefore away for the second leg, the likelihood is that we'll spend it defending a narrow aggregate lead. Sleep tight now, children... :D
