Re: Leicester away
I'm with Boris and the Bish (sounds like a crap sitcom). They can concede goals, but they also look a threat from set-pieces, which we're more likely to concede if we sit back.
I've no problem with picking a rock-hard central midfield of Medo and Spearing, and if Mavies were available I'd advocate playing him in a 4-2-3-1 - it's that sort of game. But yes, winnable, and we should try.

Re: Leicester away
Signs of taking off the pressure and expectation IMO, like Mnacini last season when he said it was all over and they played with more freedom.

Yep, DF's been saying since before the international break that it might be too late.LeverEnd wrote:Signs of taking off the pressure and expectation IMO, like Mnacini last season when he said it was all over and they played with more freedom.

He'll be saying the same thing in July when we're getting Anelka back for our European push next season

BTW we are top of the championship based on results in this calendar year! So frustrating.

Re: Leicester away
I agree with this. Against a side in good form, you'd maybe want to sit back and try and counter but when facing a team in such poor form, if we can get an early goal, it'll only lower their morale further. We should make them think "we're gonna lose" after 5 minutes because if we sit back and let them dominate possession, it'll only be a benefit to their confidence.boltonboris wrote:Nah, fvck that.. They've got some good players who can hurt us if we do that.. They're fragile and conceding soft goals to everybody. Have a go at them, get their fans on their back (they have been for weeks) and watch them fall apart at the seams.
If we got a lead after 15 minutes, their heads would go down and the fans would likely turn on the team. That's what we want, and what we don't want is the players thinking they can win or the fans rallying behind them.

Pessimism, I laugh in your face.
If we win, you win another pound (making almost two thirds of a real guinness)
If it's a draw, you're still ahead by one pound.
If we lose, I owe you nothing.

That's not a leopard!

Re: Leicester away
If we end up with a point I'd take it and fancy our chances with 2 home games and a trip to already-promoted Cardiff, but a win here would be huge. It might also drag Palace into it - all the more teams to finish above!

Re: Leicester away
Since we bid for that Shlupp (spelling?) they have started playing him and he has scored a few. Nailed on to score against us.
I'd take a draw right now but like most have said, with there confidence low we should be having a go but not over committing like a be all and end all game.

We need to win, we can't rely on other teams to do us favour as we learned last season. It's in our hands at the minute if we make the play offs or not.

Not sure I agree, Boris. I did not expect QPR to win their last five home game beating Liverpool. Spurs, Arsenal, Stoke and Swansea - and they beat us by one point.boltonboris wrote:I may have been imagining it, but I thought every fvcker tried their best to let us stay up, but we just too shit to do anything about it!Relentless09 wrote:We need to win, we can't rely on other teams to do us favour as we learned last season. The big teams certainly didn't do us a favour by QPR and Wigan picking up vital points from themboltonboris wrote:I may have been imagining it, but I thought every fvcker tried their best to let us stay up, but we just too shit to do anything about it!Relentless09 wrote:We need to win, we can't rely on other teams to do us favour as we learned last season. Re: Leicester away
It's hard to believe that we're in the playoff spots. So much so that i'm still struggling to harbor any serious thoughts regarding promotion. Feels like I'm dreaming at times (cheesy I know but its rather surreal). That being said the club have done great getting us in this position and it looks like the hard work and effort has been paying dividends. Whether or not we get promotion this year is irrelevant, to get the side playing as consistently as it has been in the past few months is some achievement.
Re: Leicester away
Shots at Bristol on Saturday were very poor. Lacked any sting or venom. We were lacking so much in front of goal.TANGODANCER wrote:Get em on shooting practise with some venom Dougie.

Aye, it was this day last year when Wigan stunned us by going to the Emirates and winning. And then there was QPR's comeback against Liverpool!Relentless09 wrote:The big teams certainly didn't do us a favour by QPR and Wigan picking up vital points from themboltonboris wrote:I may have been imagining it, but I thought every fvcker tried their best to let us stay up, but we just too shit to do anything about it!Relentless09 wrote:We need to win, we can't rely on other teams to do us favour as we learned last season. I'm confident about tomorrow night but i know that as kick-off approaches i'm gonna fall apart. Probably be shattered this time tomorrow night.

No Gregus or Vela for the reserves tonight
thoughts on tomorrow? maybe. speculation? oh yes.

Personally feel a win is necessary here. Can't say I feel overly confident about it though, but fingers crossed.
