Re: Middlesbrough to the slaughter!
I'm a bit surprised at the positive reviews for Pratley yesterday. Is it because our level of expectation about him is so low? He worked hard no doubt but like the old sunday league saying - his 2nd touch is always a sliding tackle. He put himself about yesterday but to me it was usually as a result of him losing it.
To be fair little was being held up top, but I felt we missed Spearing being in there putting his foot on the ball and finding a white shirt. So glad we have Medo though. After his first cameo, rabbit in headlights debut, he is starting to look a real class act. Pity his early strike didnt go in

Think there's some of that on my part Harry. Wouldn't hesitate to drop Pratters for Spearing. When Spearing ticks, we tick.Harry Genshaw wrote:I'm a bit surprised at the positive reviews for Pratley yesterday. Is it because our level of expectation about him is so low? Most of the great work Pratley does is off the ball. Chasing, filling space. The amount of ground he covers allows us to play this system currently. Not as good as others on the ball, but that's not really his job.
I thought he was excellent yesterday. Alongside Medo. Both excellent.

Re: Middlesbrough to the slaughter!
Pratters has improved immensely and his work rate is exemplary but Spearing is a machine and gutted he's out for the next three weeks.

A much more miserable thought is, if we don't make those play off, two games from now and our football interest finishes for four months. That's a truly miserable thought.

Indeed. As fun as this last few weeks have been a break will be welcome. Especially with the ashes in there.Worthy4England wrote:And the small matter of the Ashes to keep us out of mischief.BWFC_Insane wrote:Then we can look forward to next season. Alonso was at fault for his mistake, no doubt, but Knight gifted the scorer a completely free header when all he had to do was simply stay with him.CAPSLOCK wrote:Still Alonsos fault, that oneBruce Rioja wrote:And Bristol City's goal, anyone? I was uneasy with it at leicester as well, but it was much worse yesterday. At Leics his subbing was cheered then Ricketts name chanted which is a lot more positive and at least supports the player who is about to play the remainder of the game for you. There was also a large slice of relief in all that after his performance.89bwfc89 wrote:Read a couple of forums, every person saying the booing was a joke - which I agree with, I was fuming at Leicester about it as well. Anybody brave enough to own up I wonder!?
Yesterday a bloke sitting near me looked confused then joined in the booing the sheep-like muppet. Not sure he even knew he was booing one of ours.

It was the ironic cheering when he passed the ball to another white shirt that really did it for me at Leicester.LeverEnd wrote:I was uneasy with it at leicester as well, but it was much worse yesterday.
