I once stood on a headland in Gibralta (an English territory) and could see Africa in front of me and mainland Spain to my right. Three countries in ten seconds? Maybe time to concentrate on Wales then?

I return on the 27th of May. I do not, however, live in the same continent as Horwich, so will not be attending any finals - The only finals we have won are ones not attended by myself. Another reason not to attendYtarmyYtarmy wrote:Pisses all over my Benidorm for 4 nightsAbdoulaye's Twin wrote:Did I mention that I'm off to the Maldives in just over 3 weeks? But does that mean you would miss the Final IF we made it ??

Actually drove across six borders in one day a couple of years ago. It was a very long day.TANGODANCER wrote:I once stood on a headland in Gibralta (an English territory) and could see Africa in front of me and mainland Spain to my right. Belgium into Luxembourg, Luxembourg into France, France into Switzerland, Switzerland into Germany (Oops, I missed the France exit and had to drive up the other side of The Rhine) so Germany into France, France back into Luxembourg - where I ordered raw fish by mistake in the restaurant. Told you it was a long day

Did you really enjoy much of it Bruce? I once drove from Westhoughton to Ramsgate, across on the ferry, across a fair chunk of France, over the Pyrenees and down another chunk of Spain and back again. By the time I got home I just wanted to get on a bus.Bruce Rioja wrote:Actually drove across six borders in one day a couple of years ago. Gosh, Tango, that must be 1500 kms. You do realize that I have driven over 2000 kms in a single day from Cornwall to Kenora and not only visited but a single country but didn't get out of the Province of Ontario. It's all relative.TANGODANCER wrote:Did you really enjoy much of it Bruce? My longest road trip (two countries!) was just over 10,000 kms.TANGODANCER wrote:Ah, I forgot to mention the ten day pit-stop in La Manga.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Gosh, Tango, that must be 1500 kms. I drive on the continent quite a lot when I'm at work, Tango. I don't really get to enjoy much of it as it's all about getting to wherever I need to be next - usually a meeting or a hotel.TANGODANCER wrote:Did you really enjoy much of it Bruce? A couple of years ago though a pal and I drove to Zermatt in Switzerland for a walking holiday up on the Alps around The Matterhorn. We got a wriggle on on the way there but coming back through France we decided to avoid L'autoroutes and came back via the villages and towns, staying overnight in Dijon. I'm so glad that we did that. What a stunning country.
Wish I could take-in more of the places that I visit, but ultimately it isn't what I'm there to do.
