BWFCi thought Ngog was an out and out goalscoring striker...
I always thought the next season would be Vaz Te's season...
Crazy thought Sordell would be the league's top scorer...
Bruce thought that fruit cider was yummy...

I once thought Hierro was a terrible mistake by Sam......such is life.....thebish wrote:yes!seanworth wrote:Has Bruce changed his opinion?thebish wrote:people change!Relentless09 wrote:He thinks Afobe is the best striker we had this session so Eaves must be bad in that case

I remember commenting that Jussi looked like a useless flapper and we needed an experienced replacement for Branny. Also thought Aiden davison would be a world-beater after his debut at Tranmere.BWFC_Insane wrote:I once thought Hierro was a terrible mistake by Sam......such is life.....thebish wrote:yes!seanworth wrote:Has Bruce changed his opinion?thebish wrote:people change!Relentless09 wrote:He thinks Afobe is the best striker we had this session so Eaves must be bad in that case

Yes and that my light-hearted signature is IRA related and based on sectarian bigotry.Relentless09 wrote:He thinks Afobe is the best striker we had this session so Eaves must be bad in that case
Clearly prone to some bizarre opinions and leaps of logic.

Re: Tom Eaves - The Wanderer viewpoint
I've yet to see Eaves in the flesh, but what I've seen on tape suggests he has a chance. As he's only 21 years old he's got 5 years of development before he's the age Davies was when he signed for Bolton. Hopefully he'll be a better player during those years than Davies was in his early twenties.
I get the impression Freedman sees something worth nurturing and I don't believe he's given to sentimentality in such decisions.

Re: Tom Eaves - The Wanderer viewpoint
I thought he looked alright. A little keen to impress and eager to get on the ball, which meant he wasn't getting into dangerous positions. Would like to see him get a full 45, but Now's not the time to blood youngsters.
"I've got the ball now. It's a bit worn, but I've got it"
Re: Tom Eaves - The Wanderer viewpoint
Needs must I fancy, if it's the case that Kevin Davies is no longer in the frame, apart from the two that started yesterday, youngsters is all we have.
What I've seen of Davies this year I'm not sure I wouldn't prefer a youngster off the bench anyway.

He was so bad he was only sold for £7million - must have been absolutely rubbishEnoch wrote: Hopefully he'll be a better player during those years than Davies was in his early twenties.
What goes around may still come around
Re: Tom Eaves - The Wanderer viewpoint
You forgot to mention that he was so impressive he went out on loan to Millwall and then got released from his club aged 26.bw@bw wrote:He was so bad he was only sold for £7million - must have been absolutely rubbish
Re: Tom Eaves - The Wanderer viewpoint
I'm more than happy to see a keen strapping youngster with finishing ability come off the bench. Especially given the situation with ngog and SKD, and considering the goal return of CDavies and Sordell.

My mistake ignore the first one.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:bwfcdan94 wrote:I think he is], cannot hold up the ball as well, is not as strong, is not as good in the air, he does not work as hard as KD has throughout his career, he does not have the leadership qualities of KD (but that is understandable) and does not like getting stuck in any more so than your average footballer. However Eaves is quicker and is a better goal scorer but their is a noticeable difference in quality between the two players IMO. Personally I can see Eaves playing League1 or League2 football.seanworth wrote:Well that's sorted you lot.
Anyway since you have seen so much of Eaves can you give us a bit of analysis. I remember a couple seasons or so ago before some injury they were touting Eaves as a replacement of KD. In your analysis can you compare him a bit to KD, including strengths, weaknesses and style of play.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

I'd like to point out that any homoerotic undertones were completely unintentional, but if I gave JB a little thrill all well and good!LeverEnd wrote:I'm more than happy to see a keen strapping youngster with finishing ability come off the bench.
