Re: General Chit Chat
Just got a text. One of my oldest, close friends has just been admitted to hospital with heart problems. Not entirely sure what's happened yet or how serious or not it is but he's only mid 30's and fit and healthy, nothing like things like this happening to make you realise how fine a line there is between good health and something being seriously wrong

Re: General Chit Chat
That line gets thinner as you age, GG.
Nah, I hope he's only in for observation/tests and that it's not life threatening at this stage. If it is a problem then maybe it's for the best as finding when he is fit and healthy is probably better than in a few years time. I wish him well.

Thanks Dujon, he's much better today. Was something called atrial fibrillation? Think he might have to go on drugs but not as serious as I first worried.Dujon wrote:That line gets thinner as you age, GG.

This post contains a Too Much Information spoiler alert.
Just got back from a little mid afternoon trip to the bog. Whilst on the throne, thinking vague thoughts, someone out by the urinals suddenly let out a bloodcurdling scream. I nearly shat myself if I hadn't already been doing that very thing
.
It transpired that one of my work colleagues had just joined that merry band of brothers - the foreskin trapped in the zip club! Thankfully from my perspective, he didn't require assistance to free himself - although I could tell by the heaving sobs as he contemplated the very act that he was only 50/50 sure of finishing the task. Also, as I emerged from my stall, I got glowered at, unfairly I think, for suggesting he should enter the incident into the accident log.

On this occasion I think we are safe. The knowledge of the horrific incident has been covered up. Mind you, all hell will break loose if he develops gangrene or something. Questions may well get asked in parliament.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:BrilliantLost Leopard Spot wrote:This post contains a Too Much Information spoiler alert.

After the initial shock I was more or less thinking that, but thought it would be cruel to voice it out loud in his enfeebled state.Bruce Rioja wrote:Lost Leopard Spot wrote:as I emerged from my stall, I got glowered at, unfairly I think, for tutting and delivering the line 'you can't even take a shit in peace around here'.

Re: General Chit Chat
Thanks LLS. I just spat water all over my desk and followed it with a coughing fit. I can empathise but still laugh at the poor sod.
Our building supervisor has just been in absolutely spitting with rage. Apparently, someone in the second floor toilets has er, "Soiled the floor" as he put it.
Two things here:
1. I work in a building full of health professionals
2. It was in the ladies!!!

[GG] If you haven't investigated then http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv ... brillation" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; will give you some idea.
[BB] It's not only annoying it's bloody embarrassing to stand up in front of your female staff members (I had about 50 on my patch) and lambaste the 'unknown' who abused the sanitary facilities provided for them. Fortunately no one could tell me the identity of the miscreant so I didn't have to face her in an interview. From the end of my little speech until this day I have no recollection as to what I said. Whatever it was it worked as there was no repetition of the ghastly behaviour.

There was a case a while back of two young girls filmed depositing on a bus seat.

Hottest day so far this year (apparently). But it's actually still quite meh heatwise. Just taken a quick stroll around the car park and I've gotten goosebumps when the breeze got up.

Re: General Chit Chat
A long shot but does anyone know anything about minibus driving licences and when you have to take a test? Work has informed me that I only have to take the whole medical, theory and practical test if I drive a 16 seater minbus but to drive a 14 seater one I don't have to do any of that? Would the DVLA be best place to go for info?

Seeing as thebish and others have put up images of their daily drives/rides I thought I'd follow suit. As a bonus you can see one of my cats in the background:
