Chris Eagles - Happy Wanderer

Post by BWFC_Insane » Wed Apr 24, 2013 11:13 am

Worthy of a new thread this. He's not always been everybody's favourite. Rumoured to be linked away. Many people think if we don't go up he'll be off in the summer.

Not according to this interview at least.

Chris Eagles. Hit and miss in the Championship - way out of his depth in the Prem. Well, that's how he comes across to me anyway.

Certainly not as good as much of the hype.

Me too. I think in the championship after Mark Davies he's our best creative player by some way.

Top scorer as well.

Consistent only in that he's never consistent.

But for a side looking to go up he's a decent option for this level.

In the premiership, well I think his deficiencies in terms of being an all round team player come in to play and we end up carrying him for much of the time.

At least he has an inkling as to what the concept 'the back of the net' is.
That's not a leopard!

I had a few problems a few months ago with family, but everyone knows that now
What's that about?

I'm guessing it relates to when he 'rang in sick'.

Clearly his comings and goings aren't as widely reported as he imagines.

Well, he'll probably get a few calls about it now.

The thought had crossed my mind, couldn't bring myself to post it though.

I'd hate to see him go anywhere. He's been great this year apart from a 4 or 5 game spell when the charlies started booing him.

One of our few goalscorers and decent passers of the ball and he is a great outlet when we're under the cosh due to him getting possession and being prepared to take opponents on.

He may not be a 'team player' but he plays for the team

A real grafter

And scores goals

More effective than Lee

That is where im at. People are quite quick to jump on him for seemingly pulling out of tackles but thats not what I see. For me he doesnt hide nor shirk whether he is on form or out of form. He'll do for me.

Second top assists in the league and the top assister at the club with twice the amount of the player in second

The clubs top scorer this season

How can you call him bad? I dont expect him to make amazing tackles in the same way I dont expect jay spearing to cut in from the wing and fire one into the top corner

He's also clearly passionate about the club, his celebration at the weekend and when he scored against blackburn showed that. Great player and there'd be no talk of the playoffs without his contributions.

Not wishing to spoil anyone's party, but a regular sport on here is right back bashing, from what I've witnessed Eagles carries a degree of culpability there.
