Press night of Dario Fo's Can't Pay! Won't Pay!' at the Octagon toorrow. Not a patch on his brilliant Accidental Death of an Anarchist but will be interesting to see if the return of the Tories gives it fresh impetus.

For the most part the politics that were so alive in the 70s now land with a pretty dull thud... But there was loads of laughter - the farce still works...

By the looks of it, Southampton and Portsmouth are as near as he gets to you, but there are also quite a few dates for Boro and the NE if you're off up there.

I'm glad you enjoyed Brucie. I've always really like him on TV, but had heard from someone who saw him in the comedy tent at a music festival that his stand-up was really vulgar and dull. Maybe he was just playing to a certain audience.

Obviously I can only go off of what I saw last night, Pru, but I'd say it was basically the opposite of that (though some of the language is coarser than that that he uses on TV).

I'd imagine that playing to the audience is a god call there.

This coming Sunday at the time of approximately 6pm, myself and three other luminaries will be performing the songs of Pink Floyd from their Pompeii set at the Salford Arms on Chapel Street, very close to Salford Central train station.

You will find me easy enough, i'll be the one playing drums like Nick Mason (ie: badly) and dressed like Nick Mason (ie: flares, vest & tashe).

I'll have you know that not only is my hair much shorter than it was back then - through choice, but I'm also in the tiny percentage of males who after the age of 50 i) retain a full head of hair ii) do not develop a paunch you can balance beer bottles on iii) do not constantly fart.
If only the hair nose sproutage was as minimal as in my youth I'd be an Adonis.
