Play off Dates ?
Not wishing to say we'll be in them, but I notice the play off dates are as follows :-
Thurs 9th May 19.45 Semi final Match A
Fri 10th May 19.45 Semi final Match B
Sun 12th May 12.30 Semi Final Match A
Mon 13th May 19.45 Semi Final Match B
Mon 27th May 15.00 Final at Wembley
I was wondering if anyone knows whether we would be Match A or B if we finish in 6th position.

I don't remember them being that close together before. Have hey always been?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Yep, the home & away semi's are always 3 or 4 days apart. It's always seemed odd, but is how they do it.Lord Kangana wrote:I don't remember them being that close together before. Have hey always been?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Play off Dates ?
They used to be roughly a week apart I'm sure. Or at least the tradition Sat/Sun then Weds/Thurs.
Weird setup now.
Anyhow I firmly think this thread wants deleting!

Re: Play off Dates ?
the club have booked a big hotel in London for the nights of 26th and 27th - and an open top bus for the 28th...
Re: Play off Dates ?
A I think and we will be at home first as will be whoever finishes 5th. Obviously 6th plays 3rd and 5th play 4th.Turkish Trotter wrote:Not wishing to say we'll be in them, but I notice the play off dates are as follows :-

Re: Play off Dates ?
The Football League site doesn't clarify which is match A and B in the Championship but judging by the other two divisions, it'd 6th v 3rd on Thu 9 and Sun 12. Then a fortnight's gap to the final (with the combatants' arses going ten-bob, threpenny-bit).
They used to be Sun-then-Wed back in the old (Phil Neal) days. Mind you, they all used to be on the same weekend, which can't happen while Wembley's being used for the Champions League final (Sat 25) - which is why League Two is on Sat 18 and League One on Sun 19, but Championship on (bank holiday) Monday 27, two days after UEFA's beano.
And there has also been much jiggering about to maximise TV coverage. This year's calendar means there are coverable L1/L2 play-off semis on Thu 2, Fri 3, Sat 4, Sun 5 (for lunch and tea), Bank Holiday Mon 6 (lunch and tea) - then Championship on Thu-Fri-Sun-Mon the following weekend (on which Sat is the FA Cup final).

And they need to squeeze an FA Vase into there somewhere.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:The Football League site doesn't clarify which is match A and B in the Championship but judging by the other two divisions, it'd 6th v 3rd on Thu 9 and Sun 12. The FA Vase (Tunbridge Wells v Spennymoor Town) is this Saturday, with the Conference Play-Off Final (Wrexham-Newport) also under the arch on Sunday. Go go gadget groundsman.
From memory, UEFA demand a certain "lockdown" period before the CL final...
Re: Play off Dates ?
I'm going to miss them all, including this weekend

And considering the only games I've been to all season, have been the last 7 home games, I believe I am our lucky charm.
