I don't mind who beats manure but I really struggle to get excited about Germans winning anything.

I'm just glad to see the end of the Spanish brown tongue session.jaffka wrote:I don't mind who beats manure but I really struggle to get excited about Germans winning anything.

I was in Spain when they won the World Cup, never paid for a drink all night. It was a very good nightChrisC wrote:I'm just glad to see the end of the Spanish brown tongue session.jaffka wrote:I don't mind who beats manure but I really struggle to get excited about Germans winning anything.

"... about what ?"
".... winning the World Cup !?!?!?

"... oh ... no ... that was Spain. Not us !"
Even though they had Catalonians playing.
Amazing.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Re: Tonight's Football
Did you hear that nice person commentating on Real Madrid on Wednesday who was desperate for an RM comeback. He cried "Ignition" when they pulled one back and must've spunked his keks when the got another. Absolute tosser.ChrisC wrote:I'm just glad to see the end of the Spanish brown tongue session.jaffka wrote:I don't mind who beats manure but I really struggle to get excited about Germans winning anything.
Had it been a Barca v RM final I wouldn't have watched it. Had only one of them got through then I might have. I'm actually looking forward to the final now.

Re: Tonight's Football

Give me shots from outside the box and crosses and headers etc over the tip tap any day of the week.
Looking forward to the final. Should be a good game.

Not just you. Never really fell in love with Barcelona, and the whole media wankathon about them and Madrid to a lesser extent really grated.
Bayern are the perfect mix of technique and blood and thunder.

Re: Tonight's Football
Guardiola, BTW. Interesting. See, I reckon that he's spied BM as being an 'almost there' outfit whilst having also recognised that both Barca and RM have much work and rebuilding to do. As such, success at BM would be an almost easy path to further status for him. However, what if they win everything they can this year? And, it looks like they may well do. I bet he's praying for a BD win in the final.

They've just played so many times recently. Hard to get excited for a derby when it happens 5-6 times a season.BWFC_Insane wrote:Not just you. Never really fell in love with Barcelona, and the whole media wankathon about them and Madrid to a lesser extent really grated.
It's another downside of a two-team league like La Liga or (formerly) the SPL.

I don't mean them playing each other really, just the way people go on about Barcelona and them being the greatest team ever and Spain being the best league, blah blah.H. Gets boring. Almost as boring as watching Barcelona play......

I said similar a few pages back.Bruce Rioja wrote:Guardiola, BTW. Interesting. I would respect the guy more if he took a job with risk like Chelsea where work is needed and lots of competition for domestic honours.
Bayern with walk the league again next season. Their only competitor is Dortmund who they have made weaker by buying their best player in Gotze. They are also trying to get Lewandowski.
Mourinho is the best manager about and probably the best that we will see. He proved his worth with Porto before moving to bigger clubs. Nothing was certain with the likes of Chelsea either.. He made them a force and wrestled dominance from Manure. Once he left they lost that dominance which was no coincidence.
Once Pep takes a risk and makes a success of that risk then people might start to stand back and admire.
I've always wanted to see a top top manager take over a club like ours on a limited budget etc to see what they can really do. Not going to happen though is it?
Imagine Mourinho rocking up at the Bok to take the hot seat

You wouldn't have thought so with the lack of atmosphere created by their fans. Almost total silence.ChrisC wrote:Chelsea through to the Europa League final.

It would have been like a morgue without the Basle fans.

There are more fanboys on here than fanboys in attendance at Fanboy of the Year Awards at Fanboy City.

There is a kind of irony in that behaviour that is so subtle it almost shakes my belief in evolution by natural selection.thebish wrote:and some of them have been watching barcelona and hating it for years....
