Kudos to the Bolton fan stood outside Old Trafford when Five Live went there live tonight to ask the fans who they wanted to replace Fergie. When asked he replied "Gary Megson or Owen Coyle, I'd like to see them take United down".

I hope they do a liverpool and disappear for the next twenty years. Or better still do what they did after busby and get relegated.
All this fawning makes me sick.
and they've only just stopped wanking on about thatcher...

Re: Red nose to finally retire?
At last something's happened in football that the Liverpool fans wont be mourning about.
If Moyes was appointed he would only be the rebound manager, so that they could fire him shortly after and hire someone they really want and reduce the pressure of the Fergie hangover.

Have Moyes and Rooney got over their tiff yet? Didn't they take each other to court?
Only that's the sort of thing that could really throw a spanner into the ointment and prevent his tenure from getting off to a great start.
I'd hate it for that to happen.

I was under the impression that Madrid wanted rid of him. Hated by the press and increasingly by the fans and players too. And more importantly, didn't come close to winning the league this year.ChrisC wrote:No chance of Mourinho going to Manure IMO. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

That could pave the way for Rooney to leave...Bayern are supposedly after him....CrazyHorse wrote:Have Moyes and Rooney got over their tiff yet? Didn't they take each other to court?

Re: Red nose to finally retire?
I do find it depressing that there is so little likelihood of a repeat of the post- Busby decline that saw them fail to win the league for 25 hilarious years.

Thatcher dead and Fergie retired? There's a Scouser somewhere with a lamp and one wish.

The Madrid president doesn't dislike Jose. Mainly the press. The Spanish don't "get him" like we do. No matter how much you wanted rid of someone you would still want what you are due.H. Madrid will also be letting him go to a European competitor. He will only make that competitor stronger and possibly hinder Madrid's chances in Europe so they will want some dosh.
It was reported today that a move to Chelsea was stalling due to this compensation Madrid want.

I expect Mourinho to re-create this classic Seinfeld scene if Madrid won't let him go.

Re: Red nose to finally retire?
Moyes is experienced, consistent and Scottish, could fit right into the fergie mould in my opinion and has done good things with everton without a budget, constantly losing good players.
As much as I cant stand plastic manc fans and the man himself occasionally, he's a great manager, if not the greatest and the English game is really going to miss him. Mourinho will hate it too, I bet a big part of him going back to Chelsea was for the great rivalry between the two. He had something like it with Guardiola but not anymore and maybe that has something to do with him not being content in madrid.

Re: Red nose to finally retire?
Mourinho did a press conference the other day where he basically slagged all the Madrid fans off and the Spanish press.
Waved a piece of paper around with his record explained how he was the best manager Madrid had for the last 20 odd years and read the names out of all their previous managers asking them to say if they'd prefer any of them to him.
Bloke doesn't give a fook about upsetting the deluded Spanish fans or media or anyone else really.
It's why I like him.
