anyway, London Pride, bang on.

I'm not the biggest beer person, but that stands out.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Pride is all right for down here, but it's no Wainwright's. There's a cracking pub between Farringdon and Angel that has Wainwright's, Pride, and Deuchar's IPA on.
And Bobe's, not only is ESB still going, you can get it in Morrison's!

whats the pub? is it The Blacksmith & Toffemaker? between Farringdon and Angel couldnt be more convenient for me. Loads of good pubs round Farringdon btw, a lot of them open at 5am to serve the sixfield market workers.Prufrock wrote:Pride is all right for down here, but it's no Wainwright's. I couldn't quite remember the name because it was something daft; that's the one! You been in? I've only been twice but I really like it. Shabby, belting beer, and full of pissed posh women

Was in the Hawley Arms in Camden last Saturday. Had a very nice drop of Golden Hen.
If out I will drink London Pride or Speckled Hen. My favourite tipple at the moment though is Doombar from Cornwall. If you see it, try it.

If you're down that way and fancy pushing the boat out a little, by favourite restaurant in London is handy for you. They have a little tapas place next door also. Outstanding.General Mannerheim wrote:whats the pub? is it The Blacksmith & Toffemaker? between Farringdon and Angel couldnt be more convenient for me. Tribute is good, as is the more wintry Proper Job, also by St Austell. Doombar is good, although now a little ubiquitous, and struggles to keep a head which is a problem. The other Sharps I've had have been pish.bedwetter2 wrote:St Austell Tribute. Excellent pint, as is Sharps Doombar. The Hawley Arms used to be full of scenster wankers hoping for a glimpse of Noel Fielding and Carl Barat before it thankfully burnt down. I hope it's improved.

It was late afternoon (about 5pm) when we nipped in for one. We'd just spent a couple of hours around the Stables Market and fancied a pint. Mixed age crowd in there I'd say although by the time we left half an hour later there were bouncers on the door so maybe it gets more 'scenester' later on.

Yes. Since Sharps were bought by Coors they have increased production to such a degree that I think quality can be compromised occasionally. However, it's a good thing that they kept the brewery at Rock. All St Austell cask ales are pretty good, from Tinners upwards.Prufrock wrote:Tribute is good, as is the more wintry Proper Job, also by St Austell.
