No one is saying people repeating news items they believe to be true is a racist. However, it is important to read the whole story. The question was "is there a law, national local or municipal, that prevents people flying flags or putting up Christmas lights, etc. In re the Tyneside Christmas lights. The article you cited continues:
Dorothy Glenn decorates her home in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, with hundreds of festive lights every year, including a giant tree and a 4ft Santa Claus.

But this year she was astonished when an employee of South Tyneside Homes called at her house and informed her that the decorations she was displaying might be offending her neighbours.

The association has now apologised to Mrs Glenn and started an investigation but a spokesman insisted that removing Christmas lights was not part of their policy.
There was no policy, no law - just an officious jobsworth who was wrong.

The ex-soldier who painted a great red cross on his door rented his house. The owners asked him to take it down as is their right (it did stand out). Note this is a private matter, not a question of law.

The question of the RED CROSS banning Christmas decoration but not changing its name is too ironic to think about.

The point is there may be politically correct people or institutions who say we should not do this or that. They may even be able to enforce it if they are employers or owners. Though it seems nine times out of ten some officous chap has misinterpreted law or policy. Yet this is not the law of the land and there is a difference.

I'm not talking law and policy's

Fair enough, cousin Plymouth. However this whole thing started with the assertion that whites get arrested for doing things of a racist nature, while Muslims do not. And that is a matter of law. And the assertion was wrong.

Many large cities have areas it is not advisable to walk in but I'd be willing to bet that if the authorities caught the thugs beating people up they would be arrested and charged regardless of their colour or creed. Outside of certain parts of the American South of course.

But the conversation was about law and policy's. At which point you came in saying someone was 'spouting shit' and produced a load of links to try and say 'those things do go on'.

So what are you talking? What are you actually saying? That some officials get it wrong sometimes? That Muslims are offended by flags? Or just that you don't like Asians?

Went down the beach yesterday. There were a bunch of Asians (which seems to be a popular description on these pages) picking oysters (commercially). I approached them, and assuming they were of Laos descent greeted them in Laos. Being correct, I then asked in Thai if I could have a few for dinner. They had big smiles and gave me some oysters of which I did not have to shell out anything other than a thank you. Moral to this stupid story, quit referring them them as a group of Asians and have the balls to be more specific.

Well, over here, Sean, as you know, "Asian" tends to refer to East Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indo-Chinese, etc.), while in England it seems to refer to the Indian subcontinent, the 'Stans and parts (or all?) of the Middle East. So you are correct to suggest the use of 'Asians' is far too general to be meaningful in this discussion.

I agree, as i said i'm not talking policy's or law, I'm sorry but from my experiences i don't like Muslims, and they don't like us. But that just from my experiences (iv'e had a few) just my opinion

Also i know a lot of women who think Muslim men are purvey and sleezey

Many polish i have come across whilst fishing totally disrespect our size limits and basically take whatever they catch. then i'm told " oh at least they don't waste anything" and "that is what they do in there country" well hello this Britain we do things differently.

I'll got part way with you. I don't like some people, a portion of whom are Muslim.
I know some women who feel that some men are sleazy and pervey, and I know for certain these would include Muslims. Actually one the few former co-workers that I actively disliked over a thirty year period is a Muslim minister. He is a sexual harasser and predator, and sleazy and pervey fit him well as adjectives. If I thought all Muslims were like him I would have signed up for the crusade years ago. However, most Muslims I knew are quite unlike him.

A local council in England vetoed the display of a St. George’s Cross flag over concerns that it would be “offensive to Muslims,” while allowing the rainbow flag of the “lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender pride movement” to be flown.

People refer to them as 'Asians' because it covers a large area and you can't tell specifically where someone is from based on their skin colour or perceived religion. It's not about balls at all, just the best description. You try assuming that an Indian is Pakistani or vice-versa and see how far that gets you. Hell, some might say Bobo *looks* Welsh. Not me, though. Noope.

It could just be the collective use of the term you know Rev. Which, of course you know, but you wouldn't be able to pick on him so if you viewed it that way.

There is NOT such a law, I do doubt if Davroduk has been specifically and directly banned, personally.

But that there are numpties who have made high-handed and perverse decisions, imposing their own weird misinterpretations .... & quite regularly ... is correct. This adds to suspicions and fears and misunderstandings.

Or have I misplaced a word somewhere in all that ?

It was banned on racial grounds.
This is my point.
I am being accused of posting rubbish because people think that this type of thing hasnt happened.
I am just pointing out that there have been other instances of this happening.
Just giving an example thats all.

what is at issue is that you said YOU were banned from flying the flag. Simply, you aren't.

The nearest we have come to a 'ban' so far, is organisations preventing employees from 'flying' one whilst at work. It's hardly a ban.

It is correct that a lot of the time well meaning people get it wrong, but the clear implication at the start of this was that Muslims were coming over here and stopping 'us' flying the flag. There has been absolutely no evidence of any of these 'bans' coming about due to any pressure from Muslims, or any group of immigrants. In fact, a few of the stories linked specifically reference immigrants stating that they thinks it's ridiculous.

So, it's not true to say that flying the St George has been banned, and it certainly isn't true to say that Muslim immigrants have caused the flag to be banned. That kind of pish and piddle is insidious and needs confronting as otherwise it leads to unneccessary ill-feeling from all 'sides'.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.
