I'm questioning whether a caravan actually possesses a handbrake?

Correct me if i'm wrong.

If it's being towed, then the vehicle being driven is very likely to have a hand brake (not a slug, obviously).. Besides, most caravans do actually have a handbrake, to stop them rolling off an uneven surface

He can't sprint. That's pretty important for a winger.

If he's not good enough at left back (which is his position), don't play him at all. I'm not into this moving players about if they can't do the job they're supposed to do.

Like people advocating Ream in midfield. It's bollocks.
Ivan Campo became one of our best players after moving from defence to midfield because he couldn't play there.

Is a fair point.

Anyway, I'd take Peter Ramage from Palace (if available) and get rid of Knight. I'm not sure there'd be a great improvement, but it'd save us a fortune, wouldn't it?

He was in my PE class at high school and really good at the time. Couldn't get the ball off him (but I've always been shite anyway ;))

Think he started off in our academy at a young age.

As for Alonso, I rate him. I can put up with his defensive frailties as he's a good attacker.

That's the only one I'll concede.

Similar thing happening with David Luiz at Chelsea.

Campo had played in midfield before, as had Luiz. There's a difference between players having two positions, and suddenly deciding in their mid twenties that they're actually something else.

Ray Kennedy, Dave Mackay...

All sors of players have changed position at a young age (Ashley Cole went from striker to winger to full-back) but not many after the age Alonso is now. It can happen, but not as often as people seem to want.

At the time Big Sam said in an interview that Campo had never played midfield in his career before.

I wonder whether Dougie should look into League 1 for players. Players who's sheer determination and commitment make up for slightly less talent. I watched about 5/10 Yeovil games last year and have to say that Paddy Madden and James Hayter are two very handy attackers! Throw a spanner in the works here.

The 34 year old James Hayter?? I thought we were trying to reduce the average age of the squad, not send it through the roof.

I didn't think that one through!

Still, Madden I think would be worth a punt. Cost Yeovil 15k to buy, probably on 1k a week? He's like a smaller Irish Klasnic.

I read somewhere last week that Madden had been at Carlisle, I think, prior to Yeovil and had been absolutely shite. Maybe they were the wrong club for him. Might be worth a look. I saw all 3 of their play off games and he did nowt other than score the winner in the final. Not to be sniffed at, I know. Not sure if he's ready for the step up.
