sit-on-top kayaks are used for fishing all over the world including canada and america - they are used for fishing in the sea - they are designed for this usage - to be used in the sea for fishing. so - they are a type of sea kayak..

other kayaks are designed to be used in surf as a sports/leisure kayak... the best place for surf is not a lake or a canal - but the sea... they are another type of sea kayak..

Granted your 'on top' kayaks are used in Canada. Granted people use them in the sea. However, they are not generally called sea kayaks here. We call them sit on top kayaks. I realize you do not accept wikipedia as a reliable source but what is? Who cares anyway? You have your definition, I have mine. The important thing is to enjoy your toy.

I want to hear what the Inuits think of all this. Inuits have two type of kayaks - the traditional kayak called a kayak and the other type which translates from the inuktitut as "you're-havin-a-laugh-surely-if-you-roll-in-that-thing-you'll-either-sink-or-fall-out-and-drown" kayak. In a kayak they hunt seal, walrus, bear, whale and fish; they donated the design of the you're-having-a-laughs to western civilisation for our etertainment and their amusement.

Went on an interview for a AAT accountancy apprentiship at Reading Uni, I was 1of 15 applicants of which only 8 would be selected. Yet despite the fact that nearly every other person there was in their mid 20s and had halve a dozen years of experience working in accountancy each, I only went and got on the course. Proof if ever you need it that hard work and being dragged through the sh*ts face first pays off. Justice !

The researchers suggest that the outcome of their experiment shows that entanglement is not a truly physical property, at least not in a tangible sense. To say that two photons are entangled, they write, doesn't mean they have to exist at the same time. It shows that quantum events don't always have a parallel in the observable world.

Being able to entangle particles that don't exist at the same time opens up the door to new encryption techniques for building ultra-secure networks—communications could occur between physical locations, for example, that never actually sent an encrypted key directly to one another. It could also perhaps lead to new developments by researchers hoping to create a true quantum computer.

ok - this is the "today I am happy about thread" where I thought we could simply put stuff that made me happy.

it seems that my innocent happy posting has made Monty very fretful and unhappy and called into question his canadian manhood to some degree or other...

so - in the interests of making Monty happy as well as me simply being innocently happy about summat in my day - I will repost an edited version of my "today I am happy about" post below in the hope that it will satisfy our international clients...
