Dougie wants a 20 goal a season striker. I'll go along with Iles on this onemrkint wrote:Iles is an anagram of liesChrisC wrote:We are not in for Emnes according to Iles.
Make of that what you will. Just saying, like.

Agreed
On his day in this league he's unstoppable.

Please god please
Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko
@rmabolton Mills only one currently being discussed. But others won't get games too often. No takers yet. Slight interest in Ream

The telling thing with Eagles was that he produced when it really mattered at the end.boltonboris wrote:We can't afford top replace the Eagles we had last season. I can forgive him inconsistency for that effort at the end of the season.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
and for the fact that he pretty much carried the team in the first 3 months of the season. The problem is a lot of people had long ago made their mind up about Eagles and they're not likely to change it.BWFC_Insane wrote:The telling thing with Eagles was that he produced when it really mattered at the end.boltonboris wrote:We can't afford top replace the Eagles we had last season. Good for Iles. Has he mentioned that we aren't in for Van Persie either ?ChrisC wrote:We are not in for Emnes according to Iles.
... or, as far as I can recall, are we in for Joe Hart, though I can't be as certain about that.

Certainly the case in this division. I genuinely don't see him as a regular game changer at Premiership level though.BWFC_Insane wrote:The telling thing with Eagles was that he produced when it really mattered at the end.boltonboris wrote:We can't afford top replace the Eagles we had last season. But he can be a game changer. Like all wingers he can sometimes go missing. If you could see the signs we'd be as well giving him the day off on his poor days. But there were times last season when he got incredible stick. It was embarrassing on occasions and you'd not blame him if he took it if he got a decent offer.
I would like him to stay and Lee also ... have them regain self belief ... and start terrorising teams.

...and if they aren't terrorising teams, we substitute them and they're forced to prove themselves in training.

I think most people say they don't want to see him go.boltonboris wrote:We can't afford top replace the Eagles we had last season. Don't get it that people aren't arsed about seeing him go to be honest.
I'd love to see him stay - but I'm just not as convinced as others that Freedman isn't capable of replacing him if he got the right money..
trust in Dougie, I say... he knows what he's doing.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
If he knows what he's doing, then he's doing his best to keep Eagles, unless we get a bid well north of £5m. Of course there may be other factors, particularly if he wanted to go, but from a football perspective, he's one of your better players, so you don't let him go unless someone bids so much that you think you're guarenteed to improve your team/squad with the cash. People keep saying we *could* get someone better for less. We *could*, he certainly isn't the best player ever to cost 2M, but it's a huge gamble. Spurs got Bale for around £10m; should they sell him for 20m in the knowledge they might be able to get someone as good for 10m again?
I don't even buy that Eagles was particularly 'inconsistent' last season. Creative players always have ups and downs, but for three months at the beginning, and two at the end he was fab. He had a big dip in the middle, when he was rightly dropped, but 'inconsistent' to me implies hot and cold from week to week. He had two spells of a decent length where he was good pretty much week in, week out.
And Emnes can feck off the useless c*nt.

Hahaha! Boro fans think he's totally clueless. He's a lumbering oaf from what I've seen. Rather have Ade Akinbiyi! So is Baptiste a done deal? Just waiting for his contract to expire? Or is it still up in the air?

Off topic, but, did I dream I saw a headline saying they were going to sell him for £85m? Apparently Madrid are after him for that price with rumours advancing that Ronaldo is on his way out.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Off topic, but, did I dream I saw a headline saying they were going to sell him for £85m? As for Leicester, they better buck up or be prepared to pay Beckford 30k or whatever he is on to pull splinters out of his arse next season.
