Re: Club Rebranding
The 70's badge is essentially the same design we were using right up until those ribbons were introduced. I don't think that the words 'Bolton Wanderers' ever appeared on a BWFC shirt with that particular badge. The club trademarked the roundel part of the logo which was used on the previous badge. Even if they needed to redraw the ribbons, they certainly didn't need to redraw the roundel. It's just completely the wrong proportion now. On a separate issue, reproducing the '1877' bit at that size on merchandise is going to be difficult.

yes - good point - it'll be tiny on small items...BL3 wrote:On a separate issue, reproducing the '1877' bit at that size on merchandise is going to be difficult.

Re: Club Rebranding
that got me thinking, i know loads of folk had the old 70's badge as tattoos, but nobody had the ribbons one done did they... did theyDave Sutton's barnet wrote:BL3 is right that the 70s badge is different to the one Bish posted - from memory, those curved words appeared around 1995 (so ClipArt era, but also first top-flight return).
Bish is right that the old proportions look better - more BW than FC.
I strongly suspect that Caps is right about copyright protection - it's one of the reasons Arsenal changed their badge about five years ago, with the gun going the other way. Folks were upset, especially those with tattoos.

I think it would of looked better without the 1877 at the bottom, but TBH I'm getting to a point where I don't give a toss, what the badge is like or the kit, so long as its a White Shirt with BWFC on it somewhere. Its far more important to have some half decent players wearing it.

Quick Quid no longer on our shirts!
I've got to say this is unexpected, and although I didn't have a huge problem with them, I am quite happy with the result!

Re: Club Rebranding
A good decision by the club given the negative feeling around the sponsorship.
Re: Club Rebranding
New sponsor will be FibrLec, a new Bolton brand. A little less controversial

Re: Club Rebranding
So pleased with this! I hope the new sponsor logo is minimal so it doesn't ruin the new minimal kit!
Re: Club Rebranding
Pleased that the club have taken on board all the concerns raised about QuickQuid and that we are now being sponsored by a local company and the University.
Mind you it shouldn't have got to this stage in the first place.
