I heard he was pondering signing a 24m Euro a year deal in Azerbaijan though!

Villa have released Lichaj. (It's pronounced Lee-high, so feel free to say it like a cowboy.) Not sure he's what we need but he did make 23 appearances for Villa this season so he can't be that bad – and hey, DF signed Tierney...Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:I doubt Diarra would come a-runnin' into our arms. He's also 32 in a week so it'd be a risk. And I suspect there are other befired irons in the midfield.SmokinFrazier wrote:A midfield pairing of Medo and Diarra with Davies in front of them would be glorious.
The likes of Shotton, Brunt and Pennant will expect Premier League football, and probably get it. A few less eye-grabbing names, of the type designed to elicit groans:
Villa's Eric Lichaj - 24, adaptable (either-sided full-back). No second-tier experience though
Norwich's Marc Tierney - Prestwich-born 6ft left-back or centre-back, 27, unfavoured under Hughton. Lower-league chops (Shrewsbury, Colchester) and a second-tier half-season with Norridge
Also at Norwich, diminutive striker Simeon Jackson bagged a few last time the Canaries were in this division
Southampton's Frazer Richardson - 30-year-old right-back (but adaptable) with 100+ games in this division
Sunderland's Matt Kilgallon - 27yo left-sided centre-back, spent some time in this division and some in the top flight

And while we're on the top-flight release lists:
Sunderland have released Matt Kilgallon (mentioned above), Titus Bramble and three early twentysomethings;
Southampton have released eight including Danny Butterfield and Frazer Richardson (mentioned above);
Norwich have released Simeon Jackson (mentioned above) and nine others;
and West Brom have released Jerome Thomas and Gonzalo Jara, both of whom went on loan to second-tier clubs last term.

Matt Kilgallon? Worth a punt?

Eric Lichaj is 5ft 11Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Villa have released Lichaj[/url]. (It's pronounced Lee-high, so feel free to say it like a cowboy.)
Chungy is also 5ft 11
I was hoping we could sign Lichaj and have lee-high and lee-low... but sadly not

On Lee-ha, saw him in a couple of Sky matches last season and thought he played really well. Simeon Jackson is a quick player but that's about it, his scoring record for Canaries is terrible

WINGER Gregg Wylde today refused to rule out signing for Aberdeen FC, claiming they are bigger than former club Bolton.
Aberdeen FC boss Derek McInnes aims to make the 22-year-old his third summer signing and has offered Wylde a deal.
The former Rangers winger is a free agent having recently left Bolton and confirmed he rejected offers from England and wants to return to the SPL, making it a two-horse race between Aberdeen and Motherwell.
If you say so Gregory

Fatshaft would agree. After all, they've won their league a few times, and a proper European trophy. That said, their average attendance last year was 9,350, just more than half ours.ChrisC wrote:If you say so GregoryWINGER Gregg Wylde today refused to rule out signing for Aberdeen FC, claiming they are bigger than former club Bolton.

Derek McInnes?
Name rings a bell, a Bolton connection?

"protestors" or protestors? I'm confused.

Replaced Coyle at St Johnstone, big mates with him. Later went to Bristol City; we may have been linked with one or other of their players.Lord Kangana wrote:Derek McInnes?

Apparently, Crystal Palace have offered Jedinak a new contract, as one might imagine. Jedinak, apparently, is in the same luckless position as our own Stuart, f*cked off to do service for his country without first having popped into a stationer's to buy a pen.
He seems to have caught the eye of a few people, pity, but whilst there's hope!

Lichaj would be decent.
Thomas is one who 'looks' shit but actually has a decent end product I reckon.
