... with Van Morrison singing 'Moondance' through that scene. So many good things about that film ... & that scene.Bijou Bob wrote:Ah, American Werewolf, a pint in The Slaughtered Lamb followed by going south on Jenny Agutter. Yup, ticked every box for me as a 15 year old that did.General Mannerheim wrote:You should definitely put it on your list, but its often spotted in bargain bins at supermarkets tbh.
I find it odd you haven’t seen it tho, it its one of the most iconic films ever, referenced and parodied on so many other things you must have seen and not got the joke?
Its also one of my earliest memories of watching films, sat there cross legged gawping at the tv! That and American Werewolf, Gremlins & Superman II.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Pals and I still refer to The Royal up Tockholes as The Slaughtered Lamb. Stick to the road, boys.General Mannerheim wrote:Bijou Bob wrote:Ah, American Werewolf, a pint in The Slaughtered Lamb followed by going south on Jenny Agutter. Yup, ticked every box for me as a 15 year old that did.

Oh my giddy aunt.
Tonight's Question Time's coming from Blackburn.
There are seriously no more than 50 people there, absolutely dwarfed by an empty King George's Hall.
But no, that' not funny enough, not by our neighbours standards, far from it.
Dimbleby picks out a member of the audience to say summat and up chimes this fecking freak.
I do not like a bird with big hands, nor an Adam's Apple. Oh no!

That'll be "Blackburn with Darwen" if you don't mind.

I had to drive from work in Bristol to the in-laws near Pwheli once and took the opportunity to detour through Crickadarn in mid Wales which was the location for those external scenes, just to see the Slaughtered Lamb. It cost me about 3hrs, and it’s just somebody’s house. Bit of a letdown really. GEEK. always wanted to get a dog and call him Kessler too.Bruce Rioja wrote:Pals and I still refer to The Royal up Tockholes as The Slaughtered Lamb. I did something similar, walking the streets of Baltimore looking for locations from The Wire. I saw quite a few, Tillman Middle School, the newspapers headquarters, the cafe where The Greek hangs out. Then went to look for 'Bodies corner', when I found it there were real life drug dealers stood there so I shat myself and headed back in the other direction (it's probably why they recommend that you use a car to look for these places though I didn't have that luxury)General Mannerheim wrote:I had to drive from work in Bristol to the in-laws near Pwheli once and took the opportunity to detour through Crickadarn in mid Wales which was the location for those external scenes, just to see the Slaughtered Lamb. Made my second pilgrimage to Crow Cragg the other week (think I mentioned it), and to the red phone box in Brampton Grange from which Withnail advises his agent "Listen, I pay you 10 percent to do that..................... Well, lick 10 percent of the arses for me, then!"

Thought of Withnail at a curry house on Blackburn Rd last night when I noticed 'Keema Matter' on the menu, reminded me of his sink.Bruce Rioja wrote:Made my second pilgrimage to Crow Cragg the other week (think I mentioned it), and to the red phone box in Brampton Grange from which Withnail advises his agent "Listen, I pay you 10 percent to do that..................... Re: What are you watching tonight?
Wife's been telling me about these "shadow" show folk on Britain's got Talent. Just had a look on youtube and must admit they're pretty amazing. Asked her to shout me when they're on tonight. Pity they're Hungarian though in B.G.T.

Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?

I see Nadal won... I had kinda dismissed him as a major force since his long injury layoff - seems there's life in the old dog yet...mrkint wrote:Some belting tennis on now - Nadal/Djokovic.
