Yeh, I've been told that. In fact I was given a stern warning by a few people to dismiss the Bourne Legacy and start at the beginning and I wouldn't be disappointed.Il Pirate wrote:I watched this total she ite last night LLS. Even having watched the first three, I was confused. If it's any consolation, the first three are better.

There's a film waiting to happen here... dog, reggae music, ganga, sloppy love story. It'll be a winner.Il Pirate wrote:Currently watching 'Marley'. Not to be confused with a recent film about a dog, this is a documentary film about Bob Marley, with a little Jamaican history thrown in. Very good so far.......

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Anyone watch 'The Returned' on Channel Four last night?
It's a new series (subtitled) from France which starts with a coach crash of schoolchildren. Four years later one girl returns home, not having aged and with her thinking she's just passed out. Cue confusion, shock and joy.
Then other people start to return to their loved ones, with varying reactions.
Very good. Not put off by the subtitles at all.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
My missus was going to watch it but she abandoned it when she couldn't get the proper aspect on the tv and the words were missing at either side of the screen for the subtitles.Gary the Enfield wrote:Anyone watch 'The Returned' on Channel Four last night?

Ive never seen a Bourne film, no desire to either.

The Bourne films are a pale imitator of the books. You're not missing much imo.General Mannerheim wrote:Ive never seen a Bourne film, no desire to either.

If you suspend what you know from the books, they turn a great story into a Hollywood "action-fest" which is never a good recipe.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Yet again, the Horror Channel has outdone itself for terrible films. Watched "Dear God No!" last night what I'd recorded from last week. It is without doubt the worst film ever made, its not even "that bad its good", its just downright feckin shite. Please, please please do not watch it, I was actually angry that I'd sat all the way through it at the end, its feckin awful.

Is that the one about Richard Kuklinski? Brilliant book, if so. Think i'll have to either go and watch it on my own, or wait for the DVD.General Mannerheim wrote:Ive never seen a Bourne film, no desire to either.

This. Only read the first of the Lustbader books, but they're not a patch on Ludlum's. Not sure that they were needed tbh.Worthy4England wrote:Try the books first. Excellent one and all (well the ones that Ludlum wrote anyhow). The ones that Van Lustbader wrote (so book 4 onwards iirc) aren't the same intensity, but not bad.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Sky Premiere of The Bourne Legacy. I didn't have the first clue what the fxck was going on. I got a kind of explanation three quarters of the way through but by then it was way too late to make much difference. I kept on expecting this Bourne fella to turn up as well. Talk about confusing...
Anyway, I'm borrowing the box set of Bourne movies. I didn't realise it was the fourth in a series. It might have helped if I'd known that.

Watched the 'rockumentary' - 'The amazing story of the Who'. Not a particular big fan of their stuff but the Mrs likes em and found it to be a very engaging film. That Keith Moon was a bit of a loon wasn't he?

Watched Le Havre. Finnish-French made, but very much French in spirit. Typically batty, and jumping between momentary sadness and surreal humour.
Not sure if I got it off a recco on here, but I'd think certainly one for LK if he hasn't seen it.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
The very same. alas the film doesnt do it justice, no surprise there.. still a decent enough watch, as is anything with Michael Shannon in! but it leaves so much good stuff from the book out, and most of Richie's troubled back story which is a shame. It is obviously a lot tamer than the book too, so you can take the wife, she'll be reet.Burnden Paddock wrote:Is that the one about Richard Kuklinski? Brilliant book, if so. Watched Crash last night for the first time. Excellent film. I missed the first ten minutes so it took a while to get that there were connections between all the characters, but it didn't really impact too much on the enjoyment. I shall have to watch it again.

I meant the (2004?) Crash with Sandra Bullock, which is basically about race tension on the streets of Los Angeles. I don't know the other Crash and I don't think I want to know it.

That's the version of Crash I was aware of, but only from the Adam and Joe adaptation using toys.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Oh dear! I've gone all prudish and queasy.mrkint wrote:Cronenberg's Crash
