All out for 20 in 14 and a bit overs. Must be close to a record I would have thought.

It didn't quite work out, but imagine carrying your bat with a score of ten against your name on the sheet. The mind boggles!
What happened? Did one of the local farmers plough the ground between innings?

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Just scored tickets for 4th day of 3rd test at Old Trafford. £50 each
but thats very reasonable if its a full day not ruined by weather, lack of beer etc. My first Ashes experience.
It'll be just my luck for us to thrash them inside three days!

There will be no lack of beer, whatever the weather... In my experience anyway... Bring sandwiches, though, no point wasting money on food...

If you find that you can't go, Clapton, you have a buyer.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
^ Oh, I'll be going. This two tickets out of a block of 17 that goes to our purchaser (a good friend of ours) every year. We have always previously had the family stand but this year are on opposite side of ground. Have been to several tests and one dayers but never an Ashes game so really looking forwards to this one! As for food, well, there'll be no shortage of that. We treat our block as a community and pass around many goodies all day long. Looking forwards to seeing inside OT - it looks great from the outside.
And this day out comes just two days after the annual bowling picnic to Scarisbrick, which is also an extremely boozy event so I'll need a detox come Monday!

Indeed, mrkint, that was a very poor showing by the South Africans. At 80 for 8 it could have become a total rout. A decent rearguard effort though to get the total as high it was.
I'd say Sri Lanka will be the other finalist. May the best team win. <add other clichés here>

Yeah you've dug up some quotes from last year about a TEST series. Remind me the result of that particular series?thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Embarrassing one day performance this from England. We've done better in the tournament than we did in the ODI series v New Zealand. So I'm fully prepared to accept my judgement of our ability as an ODI side was incorrect. I like being wrong on this occasion and unlike many fully prepared to admit it.
But the rest of the quotes, are totally irrelevant. Mind I'm sure it's made you feel smugly self satisfied so hope you enjoy that. Though I don't suppose you are short of that emotion anyway.
