This came through yesterday, on its day of release no less. Have hardly stopped listening to it since. He's only gone and got his jangliest guitar back out.

Haha! Well yes, I must admit to putting up with Alanis Moist-tissue for 6 months with one girl for less than artistic reasons.Worthy4England wrote: When I used to listen to my girlfriend's shit music about 20 years ago, it wasn't about it being an eye-opener.
That said, Ella Fitzgerald had a wonderful voice.
Tonight I am playing The Who....before heading out to the MEN, to see then do Quadrophenia.

At an early age, I had to put up with Culture Club, Dexy's and Duran fecking Duran.

It wasn't worth it. I mean, it just couldn't have been really, could it? But I was young, and it was a lesson learned.LeverEnd wrote:She must have been a cracking performer you were willing to put up with that!Bruce Rioja wrote: Luxury. I had to endure gigs by both Michael Bolton and Bryan Adams!

Re: What are you playing tonight?
I had to endure two and a half hours of Glen Campbell live in the name of love. Got my own back by having a right dind-dong with a woman who insisted on singing along to every song at the top of her less than tuneful voice. We didn't actually get thrown out, but came very close. I came out with those imortal words: "I've paid to hear him sing; If I wanted to hear a wolf howling I'd have gone to the friggin zoo". At least I got her down to a mumble.

^^ You surprise me there, Tango. GC was on Later With JH a while back. There was me, sat there thinking 'and what the feck have they dragged this one on for?' and I have to say I was absolutely blown away. I'd no idea that he has such a fine singing voice or that he's a very competent guitarist. The tightness and proficiency of his band was simply awesome.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
It was very early on Bruce (not long after his Beach Boy days, at Southport Winter Gardens) and in fairness I probably enjoyed it (but for Marganita Prakatan behind me). I knew he could play guitar but haven't heard him in years. I was more into Ralph McTell, Bert Jansch and all that fascinating folky alternate tuning stuff back then. Maddy Prior, Pentangle, Steeleye Span and all that. So many good guitarist about .Bruce Rioja wrote:^^ You surprise me there, Tango. GC was on Later With JH a while back. I have to put up with Ed fecking Sheeran. Whats worse is being ginger is I seem to have people telling I look like the nice person, and have even been mistaken for him on occassion.Worthy4England wrote:Poor sod.LeverEnd wrote:Haha! Do you whine like a little bitch and hint at suffering from spiritual anguish in public? If so it's your own fault.Beefheart wrote:I have to put up with Ed fecking Sheeran. Aye, you're right, Bruce. Lived up near Shepherd Cross Street, Hatfield Road I think, because my lad lived up there at the time. P.J was always in the pub when he should have been appearing somewhere or other. L.J.B was primarily a blues singer..Bruce Rioja wrote:That was PJ Proby, wasn't it?LeverEnd wrote:Well before my time!
