Where are you going tonight?

I did thanks. We aimed for 12 pubs but only managed 10 as we had to take our host home to be sick in his kitchen sink.Bruce Rioja wrote:The fourth great lie is 'I know a brilliant Mexican Restaurant'. I did however once know a quite good one. It was in Wakefeld just off of Westgate. You had to go under an archway, into a cobbled courtyard and it was there on the right hand side. Ok, why has the filter changed k-i-t-c-h-e-n to Blackburn?

Was an absolute beltin weekend and would highly recommend sports fans who haven't been to one before, give it a go. The atmosphere when Mo, Jessica Judd & the Relay crews powered home was awesome. I cant begin to imagine what it must have been like in the Olympic stadium on Super Saturday

Indeed.. Was on the other side but was well compensated with the Polish & Turkish Pole Vaulters. Very talented ladies (no idea where they finished).

I know. Gutted I missed out on the Olympics. It was good on TV though. Saw Coe's farewell at Don valley in '91, and seen some good trial races at The Alexander Stadium and the Commonwealths were great too. But...
Glad you enjoyed the weekend. I'm going to have to go to Glasgow next year.

On a job in barrow this weekend so staying in a hotel out here. Just went for a wander round the grounds and came across furness abbey. Unfortunately closes at 5, was tempted to jump the fence but figured it was better not to. Pretty cool place though!

Ah. You are very close to one of the pubs on my Ultimate List of Pubs to Visit Before I Die list - the Ship Inn on Piel Island. It's from where Lambert Simnel the pretender king started out from to conquer England. Ever since then the landlord of the pub has been known as the King of Piel Island. He even has a throne, and enobles knights and Barons if you've been an especially good customer. No idea what the beer's like though! (as I've not been yet).Beefheart wrote:On a job in barrow this weekend so staying in a hotel out here. Just went for a wander round the grounds and came across furness abbey. You should see her reaction when someone asks what blended Whisky they serve.

Very good, Enfield.
I'm guessing that that pic was taken a while back due to the inclusion of Castlemaine XXXX.
As such, we've only one real way of finding out what ale they currently serve.
Beefheart - you're on, Lad!

Had a walk from Victoria Coach station, along the river, down Whitehall and to Trafalgar Square, followed by a mosey around the National Gallery. Watched the end of the British GP (not a big fan of F1 generally but I was flicking through and it was a pretty good race). Now about to have a G&T in the garden in the sun. Life is good, sometimes.
