The Oracle also saying that Beckford deal will be done tomorrow, loan of other winger dependent on "Parent club honoring a verbal agreement"

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

If he adds this mystery striker as well, plus Beckford (which would surely signal the end for Sordell ... I wonder if Wiggin will go for him ??) we're only Dawson and Spearing (who I see IS linked to Wiggin, but he simply MUST know what a tit their manager is) short of a decent squad.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Sterling did well for a while but I think he'd be too small for the division. He's a lightweight in the Premier League, so that'd be an even bigger weakness in the Championship.
I'm hoping we get someone better than Beckford, who I'd place behind N'Gog, Davies and maybe Sordell too. For me, he's not the goalscorer we need.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Similar Championship record to Sordell, who is seven years younger.
Everton, Leicester and Huddersfield all got rid after a season, so he can't have been that good. I'm unconvinced.
The loan thing is interesting. Anybody who is even remotely close to being in the first team at his club would surely stay there so the manager can take a good look at him over pre-season before deciding whether or not to send him out. Stirling, Sinclair and Barkley have been mentioned, but two of their clubs have managers who only officially started work today, while Stirling made 39 appearances for Liverpool last year and surely Rodgers will wait to see how his squad turns out before deciding either way.

I'd be feckin cock a hoop if it were Sterling. In the early part of last season there weren't many in the Premier that could get a grip on him. If he found his form he'd be unstoppable in the Championship.
For that reason I dont think it'll be him

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
He was on loan at Huddersfield who couldn't afford his wages to buy him, but would have liked to. 8 goals in 34 games for Everton is hardly shabby either.Tombwfc wrote:Similar Championship record to Sordell, who is seven years younger.

Based on minutes on the pitch last season for Huddersfield he averaged 1 every 180 minutes so one every two games.
His goalscoring record at Leeds is virtually identical to Rhodes at Huddersfield.
Definitely more of a goalscorer than anyone currently in our squad.
Question marks are over temperament and workrate for me. Hopefully Dougie can get the best out of him.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
I'm trying not to worry that these quick signings - Tierney, Baptiste, Hall, possibly/probably Beckford, the two kids, have I missed anyone out? - are sapping our purse in a way we'll later reject if there's a chance of Dawson and/or Spearing. I don't doubt Dougie, but you're welcome to reassure me.bobo the clown wrote:If he adds this mystery striker as well, plus Beckford (which would surely signal the end for Sordell ... I'm sure the money will be there for Dawson if the chance came. may want to keep him and there will be other interest perhaps premiership interest.
Spearing from what I can gather was always highly unlikely to come back as Liverpool want a sale and he wants the top flight. I think we need another combative midfield option but I think we will look for a cheaper option than the 3M plus Spearing.
