Re: Roy Greaves
I loved Roy Greaves. Simply excellent player.
Good luck Greavo and may Joyce McKinney tend to you in your recovery.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Watched him many times - if he played well the team played well. Hope he makes a full recovery

Re: Roy Greaves
Greaves was denigrated for many of his early seasons - that he had 'a turning circle the size of a double decker bus' was a common sneer...
That he was slow, often late in the tackle etc etc was routine comment...
And he turned it round, got better and better, learned his trade, gave everything and then some more, until he was the first name on the sheet, until he was almost beyond criticism (a rare place for a Wanderer to find himself).
Roy Greaves was a great player for our club at a time our club lacked greatness. He was honest from first whistle to last. He never shortchanged his team or its supporters. He earned, the hard and committed way, the respect and affection of the fans, and we gave it to him, for many seasons and wholeheartedly.
Get well soon, Roy. Stay well.
