I think we've stumbled into an episode of Benny Hill - or Carry On up the bathtime!

Anyone been to Alton Towers recently? We went on Weds and got on the new ride, Smiler, well worth a go if you like rollercoasters!

Rita is my favourite!

It's an expensive do these days, we had a BOGOF voucher and still spent £66 before getting in! We paid for fast track tickets for the new one as the queue was 3 hours long, they didn't take the fast tracks off us on the first go so got on twice, made me feel a bit better haha!

The last time I went The Black Hole was the new attraction. Do they still have boards up saying '45 Minutes From Here' and suchlike along the length of queues?

 Smiler has replaced Black Hole now! Yeah they do. Queuing for 3 hours for a ride seems a bit crazy!

Didn't the Black Hole go years ago?

Not sure, I think it was closed for a while before they replaced it with the new one.

Really? Blimey. Just remembered anyway - the last time I went was when Nemesis was the new ride. I've been scratching my brains and I've been three times in my life.

Well, they have to keep doing something to keep people queuing up for an hour at a time. Sell more multiple day packages so that people can get everything in (I assume that that's what they do. Overnight packages?). Brilliant marketing. :oyea:

Went last year - managed about 4 rides in the day. Complete rip-off. Get much better value from Blackpool (but at the expense of having to put up with scallies everywhere.)

Thirteen was last years noob. By the time you'd got on that, it was nearly time to pack n go.

We did a little better than 4 rides but that's only because we bought fast tracks for the new un, and at 7 pound a piece, you're right a complete rip off! I felt right smug getting two goes off our fast tracks, made me feel slightly better about paying the extra :)

You pay your entrance fee then have the option to pay extra for fast track tickets so that you don't have to queue for that ride. Works out well if you want to give a new, really popular ride a try but don't want to spend most the day queuing for it and not getting on anything else.

So how do you get on with those 'If You're Not As Tall As Me You Can't Have a Go' things? :P
