Preston then ... do you think he & Emma will be able to keep their home now ? ... & the kids be ok at school ?
Hope so, poor loves.

I suspect he was being considered a replacement for Charlie Austin who was expected to sign for Hull. That probably fell through when Austin failed his medical due to a dodgy knee.BWFC_Insane wrote:Thought he was going to Burnley?mrkint wrote:Canada via Deepdale, then.

I'm a bit surprised he plumped for Preston, them being League One and all that. Thought he might have fancied another go at Premiership!
Must be the philanthropist in him shining through.

Although he's been a bit of a tw*t recently, can't help but wish him good luck in the 1st division, even though he says he's still good enough for the premier league. Been a good player and captain for us, but he's soured the memories lately(or at least Emma has).

Nah he had many "fantastic opportunities" on the table and Preston was clearly the outstanding candidate....Enoch wrote:I'm a bit surprised he plumped for Preston, them being League One and all that. Thought he might have fancied another go at Premiership!

In all seriousness perhaps he was worried about going to a Sheff Weds or Burnley and ending up not being picked there as well!

Hope a 2 year deal provides emma with enough security.

She can maybe begin planning on tightening the belt a little over that time.officer_dibble wrote:Hope a 2 year deal provides emma with enough security.
2 years with an option for another 14 or so is in her plans I guess.
I honestly hope it goes well for him and he can calm down a bit and get back to playing football and keep that vacuous bitch off air.

I wish him well. I think he'll get a huge wakeup call and fail miserably and slutfer will somehow blame it all on bwfc. But I wish him well.

I had a feeling he might go for Preston. Don't think he fancied playing against us or coming to the Bok as an opposition playing.

He'll be alright in League One.
Unless of course he's required to tackle, pass an opponent with the ball, head it in a meaningful direction, shoot on target without needing 40 seconds to control the ball or cover more than 15 yards in a minute.
Most influencial player in 10 years my arse.

It's okay, he's gone. You can put the doll and the pins away and relax. He can't hurt you anymore.BWFC_Insane wrote:Nah he had many "fantastic opportunities" on the table and Preston was clearly the outstanding candidate....Enoch wrote:I'm a bit surprised he plumped for Preston, them being League One and all that. Re: SKD off to Canada...
It's quite sad to see how quickly fans turn on players. Whenever a player wants to leave a club, like Benteke at Villa, you always hear fans moaning about a lack of loyalty in football, but the fans themselves have no loyalty towards the players either. One bad season and the fans have it in for you, despite years of good service including as captain during a successful period of the clubs history. It's not even like Davies is a prick either. Yeah, he might have annoyed people with some comments but he was disappointed and frustrated, and I don't think anything he said was that bad either.
I just think it's a shame how quickly some fans turn on players. Assuming we get promoted and a big club comes in for Medo and he puts in a transfer request, I'll have a smile when the same people bitching about Davies now, are moaning that Medo has no loyalty.
Davies had a bad season last year but aside from that, he's been a great player for us and a great ambassador for the club. He'll always be a club legend and I hope when this saga stops being relevant, our fans show him the respect he deserves.

So you should just shut up and put up with a players consistent poor performance, because they used to be good???

I think the last bit is the whole point. When he stops being a d!ck I'll stop criticising him, remember the good years and wish him well. Hopefully that is now since he has a new club to get stuck into. I slag my mates off to their faces when they are talking b0ll0cks, doesn't mean I hate them or have turned on them etc.SmokinFrazier wrote:It's quite sad to see how quickly fans turn on players. Re: SKD off to Canada...
If people want to criticise his performances, that's fine. He's an aging player, well past his peak and is nowhere near as good as he once was. I'm not arguing that point, or saying that fans can't criticise players, I just don't like the tone people have used towards Davies. Surely fans can be critical of performances without being insulting or disrespectful?boltonboris wrote:So you should just shut up and put up with a players consistent poor performance, because they used to be good???
