When I were on a lads holiday in my early 20s I was at once of those Greek nights for tourists in the mountains. For some reason my table put me in charge of wine. I didn't know most of the people on the table and they surely regretted their decision the next morning. The wine was in barrels outside and as the evening wore on the rose ran out. Not knowing much about wine, I just mixed the red and white until it looked approximately rose. No one knew I was doing this and everyone, including the two 80 year old, grannies got absolutely legless

Does that not mean that 'technically' Dan is an adult and therefore able to look after her?Montreal Wanderer wrote:I think Dan is just 18 and if Sis is younger this is a problem.Harry Genshaw wrote:Dan - I'm genuinely a little worried here. Well, he hasn't been an adult that long and this situation appears to have been going on longer. Also he is likely not Sis's legal guardian (assuming she is younger).Bruce Rioja wrote:Does that not mean that 'technically' Dan is an adult and therefore able to look after her?Montreal Wanderer wrote:I think Dan is just 18 and if Sis is younger this is a problem.Harry Genshaw wrote:Dan - I'm genuinely a little worried here. If he does move back up to Horwich we could see if we could get Bobo to adopt him

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Look I see my dad for 11 hours a week but I am getting everything done, I know some of you think I am a simpleton or retarded because I cant spell properly but the truth is I am a lot more capable than most of my age of looking after myself and my sister. I get the shopping in, can cook pretty well and do what house work is necessary (my dad does the ironing and some of the washing on Sundays). I have done a pretty good job in looking after myself and my younger sister even though my dad is not around for days at a time, admittedly my school work has suffered a bit however I passed my business and may well get a distinction in my I.T.

God this sounds a bit like what happened in Tottenham a couple a years ago and we all know how that ended.

How old is your sister Dan, does her school know she lives with just her older brother?
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Yes they know my dad works away quite a lot (he always has done in fact this is minuscule compared to how much he worked away when my mum was alive)it wasn't always so long it varies but even when he was working in London in January we only saw him for about 1/2 and hour each night before we went to bed so its only actually a change of only couple of hours. My dad still technically live with us its just he spends at least a 2 nights away from us each week minimum (that was the case when he worked in London everyday and then he went up to Gloucester for 2 days.) of course this has increased and there have been a couple of occasions where I have not seen him for a full week.Gooner Girl wrote:How old is your sister Dan, does her school know she lives with just her older brother?
Look I am coping I know some of you are worried about me but there is no need to worry to much, what you have got to keep in mind is I have shared this information in full confidence with you because I know for a fact that if I told everybody I know and speak to everyday what was going on then I would get constant hassle and that is worse then no one caring at all. I am afraid to say my sister has not seeked counselling and keeps everything bottled up inside of her (unlike myself, as I have seen a councillor for the past 15 months or so), I have tried to get through to her but she is very tight up when it comes to emotions and has always had an attitude or its her way or the high way, hence I do nearly all the house work during the week.

How old is she Dan? I don't doubt you are doing a great job but its a lot to take on at such a young age.bwfcdan94 wrote:Yes they know my dad works away quite a lot (he always has done in fact this is minuscule compared to how much he worked away when my mum was alive)it wasn't always so long it varies but even when he was working in London in January we only saw him for about 1/2 and hour each night before we went to bed so its only actually a change of only couple of hours. Thanks for your pm, can't help feeling a bit uneasy about it all as you describe it. Please don't feel you can't ask others for help.bwfcdan94 wrote:15 almost 16.
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
It will be alright, we all generally get dragged through the sh*ts at some point guess its just happened to me a lot younger than most. I know what I am doing and it is only another year if that till I can go to Horwich and leave all of this behind me.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
The reason we worry, Dan, is because this kind of responsibility should not be yours at your age and stage. You don't appear to have much of a support network and probably do not have a good relationship with your sister or your father. Some nine months ago in this thread you wrote:bwfcdan94 wrote:15 almost 16.
The situation seems a prescription for disaster which is why people are concerned.bwfcdan94 wrote:....I will be brutally honest with you my only family that i ever see is me dad (who has generally made me feel like everything that has gone wrong in our lives since mum died is my fault) and my sister (is a lazy stuck up tw*t who dosent lift a finger to help me with all the housework that i have to do). as for freinds i do not have any one i ould rely on if i had any problems ....
