Just a thought, BTW. Could we get 22 together for a TW taverner's match?

If I am in Bolton I would love to get involved.

I've only been up and about for an hour or three, so please accept my apologies for my tardiness.

What a privilege it was to watch that lot. After England's late capitulation and Australia's similar collapse - although the latter a little more serious - up steps a test match tyro to confound the most optimistic of critics. Good grief! From what I saw Phil Hughes deserves just as many kudos as does Ashton Agar. Although he was finding it difficult to start with to protect Agar by manipulating the strike he realised that it was an unnecessary tactic and, apart from mid-pitch advice, ceased to worry about his number eleven's capabilities.

Oh, Jimmy, Jimmy. A superb bowling exhibition well supported by Swann. Did England suffer from the absence of Broad until late in the Australian innings? That's an imponderable in my opinion. The stumping controversy? As always in cricket it's the umpire's decision and the umpire's decision is final. Get on with it. What batsman or bowler or wicketkeeper has not been the recipient of what he thought was a bad call?

After two days of an extraordinary contest what can today bring? I, for one, will not even hazard a guess.

Reminiscent of Australia yesterday morning: plodding along serenely for the first hour, then two quick dismissals. Cook and Pietersen back in the hutch after making fifties. Bill hooks.

It ain't looking great is it?

Need a big partnership between these two. Looking at Bells' record against the Aussies over here, can't say I'm very confident.

Aye, could be better. Shame KP chopped on, though he had inside edged a few times this morning. If Clarke's catch is as good as it sounds then fair play.

Amazing to think there are still two and a half days left of this match. Hopefully we're still batting at lunch tomorrow.

We've got no need to go fishing, though. just bat, man. Cook was doing it beautifully. Pietersen was as well to an extent, before his aggression got the better of him. Bell is one guy who has the class to see a day out.

Always look to Prior. Top glove man and solid as a rock as a team player.

This thread is missing enough domage. If we could somehow eek out another 100 to get to 250, I think we'd have Arthur.

I'm pretty sure we'll nail this one Worthy, even though Prior's just gone. Agar won't do a repeat performance second innings. First time he didn't try to be a class batamsn, just hit everything full bore. Not a defensive stroke in sight. We should do the same with his bowling, whack it all before it hits the deck, starting about now. I'll print this off and eat it if I'm wrong.

Oh my lord, this is epic trolling. How can Broad not walk for that?! How can the umpire not give it?!

Dear me. Heard it in the car - Boycott was pissing his sides. Just seen it now.

I don't blame Broad for not walking. If the Aussies want to spunk away all their appeals on fripperies then tough shit, Cobber!

Great effort from Bell and Broad there.

Mind they'll both be gone without scoring again in the morning.

I think the aussies are going to have to wrap this up by tea tomorrow otherwise England will have more than enough runs to win this match. Anderson will get it singing and reversing a bit latter on , Broad and Finn will certainly offer support and will this pitch deteriorating and being a spinners pitch I can see Swann getting 5. If we get to a lead of 300 we will win this comfortably. (fingers crossed)
