Don't know if this is old news, but interesting if Beckford deal falls flat.
An internet virtual fiver for anyone who guesses who his agent is!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I'm gonna guess it's my Aunt Sally, but only because I didn't read the bit where it names Willie McKay.BWFC_Insane wrote:An internet virtual fiver for anyone who guesses who his agent is!

He doesn't appear to play too many games a season. Is he up to playing 50 games a year in the Championship?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:News to me, although this sort of rumour rarely goes far. Beckford deal to be sealed in 24 hours
7:00am Monday 15th July 2013 in Sport By Marc Iles
AN end may finally be in sight to Wanderers’ longest-running transfer saga.
The club were yesterday cautiously optimistic that Jermaine Beckford could complete his move from Leicester City in the next 24 hours.
And what is more, it appears the 29-year-old striker will be arriving on a free transfer after coming to an agreement on the final two years of his contract at the King Power Stadium.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
just scanned through available players and found possibly a few jem's if they will take reasonable wages
yossi benayoun - free
danny simpson - free
jermaine pennant - free
mathew upson - transfered to brighton and hove albion (seems we could have got him very cheap
william galass - free
zoltan gera - free
to think this is just a select few players i consider decent and are fairly famous names in england and we could likely have them all signed and paid for the season for less than elmander cost per year
on the other hand
yossi beneyoun - mark davies
danny simpson - baptiste
pennant - medo kamara
upson - knight (i really would have knight over lots of other options in defence i must be mad)
gallas - wheaters comeback
gera - CYL maybye holden
yea more than likely the would be pointless nvm

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
I suspect that if it did happen, the structure of it would be similar to Paul Robinson's transfer in, and Al Habsi's out - effectively a down payment for the loan, then stump up the cash for the remainder.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:A deal not benefiting Liverpool, if his contract runs out then. They'd lose his wages (in part or toto) but not get a transfer fee. I'd imagine it's far from their first choice, and therefore wouldn't happen until late next month, at which point we may have decided we're alright without... or have spent our cash elsewhere.ChrisC wrote:Spearing will end up back here I think.
Season loan with a view to a deal at the end of the season.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

"There is a lot of interest in Jacob," Mulenga's agent Willie McKay told Sky Sports.
Is it Eleanor of Aquitaine?

My moneys firmly on Craig Allardyce.

PHIL Gartside has confirmed that Jermaine Beckford will soon be a Wanderers player.
The chairman told BBC Radio Manchester earlier today that a signing was imminent, and likely to be the last before the season opener against Burnley at Turf Moor on August 3.
“We have got one more at least, who we will announce very shortly, then it is a case of settling down and see where we go for the first few weeks of the season,” he said.
Gartside then confirmed the identity of the signing – revealing that a breakthrough had finally been made with Leicester City for the 29-year-old striker, as reported by The Bolton News this morning.
“We had a bit of a hiccup on Jermaine Beckford but we have probably sorted it out now,” he said.
“Jermaine will join us in the next couple of days.”

As well as remembering not to call Baptiste, Clinton, I must also remember that this bloke's called Jermaine Beckford, not Darren.

Wonder if Beckford will be a part tomorrow against Rotherham? Remember Eagles, Mears and Reo Coker featuring against Bury before we'd officially signed them.

Oh and I was always quietly hopeful that we'd at least bid for Dawson.
Read a little further.. Gartside say one more "at least" before the big kick off. Window is open until September 2nd. Plenty of time left for more once season starts.

Nixon has stated the we've made a surprise signing that will be announced tomorrow. He's hoping to get it into the mirror tonight. Hopefully it's somebody exciting and not a cover player.
He said: "Middlesbrough are a far bigger club than Bolton - I can achieve my ultimate career aims here." Michael Ricketts
Then: He played for 9 lower league clubs in 6 years, he's without a club since being released by Tranmere 3 years ago.
