Nope. Not even intentional swallowing of spit. Even accidentally breaking the fast early means you have to add a day on to your fasting. No idea how they manage it in 50c heat. It is a nightmare as around 60% or so of the population end up having zero concentration whilst driving. Bad accidents rise dramatically. I refuse to go on the roads after 2pm during Ramadan it is that bad.
Surprised me that. I was asking a (non practicing) Muslim mate last night and he confirmed it. He said his niece currently works in McDonalds. She goes in there starving, working with food in hot temperatures! I don't know how they manage

Fxcking ignorant tosspots (especially thick bimbos in hot weather category).
Over the weekend one call to the emergency services for a woman stranded on the moors. Search and Rescue helicopter and a Mountain Rescue team discovered her ten feet (that is ~ 3 meters) from a public car park. She had snapped the heel off of a stiletto shoe. Her entire extended family were less than thirty feet ( ~10m) away from her setting up a fxcking bbq on the tarmac, and she thought it necessary to dial 999. Thick cnut.

Pet insurance.

Changed insurers last week. As one policy finished the other started.

Over the weekend my cat became ill. Took her to the Vets this morning to find she is severely anaemic. Blood test confirms she needs a transfusion as her red blood cell count is about 7.5% and should be around 29%

Contacted the insurers to be told that, as the cat had become ill during the first 14 days of cover, she wasn't covered.

So I am faced with the prospect of shelling out £2,000 to £3,000 on scans and transfusions AT THE MINIMUM or to euthenase the cat.

I don't have £2,000 to £3,000 so the 'choice' is pretty much made.

Insurers are c*nts.

And yes, before anyone starts, I KNOW I accepted the t's & c's.

They're still c*nts.

Surely you can have them under trades description or summat? How can they sell something called cover that erm doesn't cover you because the cover hasn't started when it has started. Complete bullshit and I'd be in their office refusing to leave until the sort it.

Are the first 14 days of the insurance free?

Otherwise that is surely an unfair and unrealistic contract condition. After all, your pet wasn't uninsured before this incident, you merely changed insurers.

It's a general cover for two cats AT. They are covered for accident or injury immediately and illness after 14 days. Presumably it's to stop people who don't bother with insurance suddenly taking a policy out when tiddles becomes unwell and then passing it off as a new illness.

I can demonstrate previous insurance and medical history (even though the cat's only 15 months old) but there is no getting away from that clause. Just deeply unlucky for the cat to have fallen ill during this time.

I've no time to appeal as the cat is, apparently desperately unwell.

Exactly. It of course is all weighted in the insurers favour. But still it's morally wrong.

I understand they have to proetct themselves against people taking out insurance the day a pet shows signs of a problem but in this example, that is clearly not the case.

The car park is on Stanton Moor. She claimed she had twisted her ankle, and had no water. The 999 passed it onto Mountain Rescue who managed to ascertain which moor she was on, but she had no idea as to her starting point.
As for fines, Mountain Rescue are a volunteer organisation, I don't think they have the power to fine her (I've no idea about the status of the helicopter, and it was out anyway on other jobs). But, theoretically, if I was in charge of Mountain Rescue, I may well have led the silly tw*t deeper onto the moor before abandoning her. mind you, I'd also fit cannon onto the helicopter and have it strafe her extended family as well. Because I'm sympathetic like that.
I know the details, by the way, because one of my mates is in the Mountain Rescue team. The idiots' tales he has are legion.

I'm not sure about this but because you have continuous insurance between the two policies I think you can force them to pay out. Get the vet to do everything necessary and then get them (the Vet's to sort out who is paying by giving both insurance ref numbers - one of them's got to. I'm pretty damn sure of that).

Be careful what estimate you are taking. When you've put your postcode and number in it should come up with a screen offering you to compare packages. Don't click on the compare packages as the speed estimates there are not in fact estimates but the "maximum achievable" speed in general.

Instead on that page click on BTADSL and see what speed it says you should achieve on ADSL2+ (if that isn't what you've already done of course).
