It's a bad mistake, though rather they happened in pre-season than during the season.

However, what worries me more than our mistake-prone defender committing a howler is his partner (is it Mills or Wheater? Think Mills) completely failing to react and get across and provide any sort of cover for the mistake.

it all worries me! but I suspect his partner (quite understandably) is not expecting there to be any danger to cover in that situation!

I'm not so sure. I suspect strongly that Knight is the best centre back we have on the books. Might be a case makeable for Wheater, lets see when he gets back.

But with Dawson and Knight we actually looked like we had a halfway decent partnership going. Wasn't all down to Dawson either.

Knight is error prone for sure and can be slow, lumbering and pretty abysmal. Also think when he's "on it" he's pretty decent, for this level at least. It's finding a way to bring the consistency out.

And I think you're on drugs. In fact, I'm going to lobby Big Dave to extend his proposed Internet lock-down to include people making any kind of a case for that fecking dray horse and posting it publicly. :)

What are the other options? Ream? Do me a favour.

Mills? Looked absolutely woeful whenever I've seen him play for us.

Knight is ahead of both of those, quite rightly so in my book. There are plenty of shit centre halves in this division. Just need Knight to play like he did second half of the season and the problem I fear will be who partners him more. We'll see.

Just a minute, you said that 'Knight is the best centre back that we have on the books' which you're now attempting, very poorly, to alter to 'he isn't the worst'. This is exactly the sort of gobshittery that I'll be lobbying the Prime Minister with. Knight's a fecking disaster in every game he plays. The others aren't good footballers, of course, but Knight isn't a good footballer that also comes with the addition of calamity, guaranteed.

Getting the mistakes of the way in pre-season? YOU do ME a favour.

'Ere, are these your seats? ;)

Well, that's a bit of a 'tallest dwarf' one really, Bish, but I'd say Wheater.

I've not seen much evidence he's clearly better than knight... not enough to assign BWFCi to the drug-rehab for what might be a very fine distinction indeed!!

anyway - this is Knight's season!

look on page one of this thread and you'll see that Bruce paired Mills with Wheater... that's probably your answer..

Ah right. Well not for me. Fair enough I guess. I would probably have said that of Mills before he joined us but haven't seen anything since he's been here to suggest there is anything close to a competent centre half hiding in there.

Perhaps a full pre-season and some of Dougie's magic will bring it out? Though from reports we're trying to get shut of Mills so perhaps we'll never know!

I think that at the end of the day we can all agree that we have massive problems at CB.
