Indeed. And so far unsuccessfully tried to get rid of Ream and Mills. There is a pattern here.

Beckford for Davies.
Tierney for Alonso.
Baptiste for Ricketts.
Hall for (ultimately) Petrov.

Don't forget Craig Dawson. Hopefully Tierney and Baptiste are at least as good as Ricketts and Alonso but we haven't replaced Dawson (yet).

Most people would accept that our fortunes changed last season when we signed Dawson on loan but at the moment we are going into this with the same average centre halves.
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

What gives? Zat Knight is what gives. He was also partly to blame for the first goal as well as the last as he turned his back on the striker.

I don't think he is good as Bruce thinks he is. :D
I don't think he is as good as any of us think he is.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

Ah thanks for that, looks like we're getting a decent side together

They're talking about Fraser being loaned back to some Scottish side
we've loaned him to Partick Thistle for 6months...

Highlights of Shrewsbury here FWIW. Some of the attacking play looks super nice. The defending looks well, whatever the exact opposite is.
Knight made mistakes for every one of those goals. Him and Baptiste were horrible on the first. He let the crosser have all the time in the world on the second and the third?! Well... I just...

For the first one, I guess Baptiste isn't yet used to how bad his new team-mate is. It's a little hard to tell but I think Knight looks round once (2m20s) when the ball is on the wing, after which the striker nips past him. There's then something that comes painfully close to farce (2m21s) as Knight turns his head to the right, realises the dangerman isn't there, then spins to his left just in time to see the goal...
http://youtu.be/R_Akogwx8g4?t=2m15s" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

For the second one - 4m32s http://youtu.be/R_Akogwx8g4?t=4m32s" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - he's not exactly quick to close the crosser down but I suspect DF will be blaming others for yon bloke having a 5-yard-square area all to himself on the edge of the box. Nice hit but he had the time to make it.

The third... I'd be tempted to put it down to one of those things, if we didn't get one of those things at least once a fortnight.

is it carlisle tonight?

if so - dougie doesn't think beckford is ready for a full game (why the feck not??)

“He’s only done some very light jogging but he did a fitness test with us a couple of weeks ago” “He should be ready to play some part, 15 or 20 minutes.”

(Burnley beat them 4-1 last weekend...)

We've probably gone back to the individualised training programmes of Allardyce and co. Players dont play until they have passed their fitness targets. Or sommat!

Zat Knight is a dreadful defender. How many times does he just slowly lumber his way back, completely ignoring the fact the opposition are going to put a cross in? He cost us several goals last year by making the exact same mistake. It's his job to stop the ball getting into the centre but he never does anything about it. He's not just error prone, he doesn't know what he's doing. If the opposition are going to boot up 60 yard long balls, he'll be great for defending them, but for anything that requires more instruction than "f*cking head it", he's clueless.

I'd much rather see Wheater be partnered by Ream next year. Their partnership in the Premier League wasn't bad at all.

Really looking forward to tonight! Been far too long since I last got to see the whites. Finished early from work, some food and beers in town and then off up to the ground. Free ticket as well. Can't be bad!

which games did ream partner wheater at CB in the premiership?

edit - i looked it up..

i reckon:

(just league)

lost 3-0 chelsea
won 2-1 QPR
won 2-1 b'burn
won 3-2 wolves
lost 3-0 fulham
lost 2-0 newcastle
draw 1-1 swansea
won 2-1 villa
draw 2-2 sun'land
lost 4-1 spurs

so... 10 games - 20 goals - 2 goals per game shipped....

He's spent half the time negotiating with Leicester though.

Lonergan, Mears, Knight, Mills, Ream, Pratley, Medo, Eagles, Hall, Eaves, C Davies

Eavies starting tonight - I thought he was still knacked.

Beckford and Kellett on the bench.

Anyone else worried by Ngog's continued absence from these pre-season friendlies?

He should be back a few games into the season I would have thought, he was said to be out for a few months
