They'll fly out of the blocks Wigan. But they'll tail off and fall like a Coyle shaped come Feb.

Re: Championship 2013/14 Predictions
Coyle has as good a record as any in this division. I'd love to engage in a touch of schadenfreude, but I can see Wigan doing well this season if ( and this if is very important for me) they get off to a good start. And Dave backs them.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Not quite sure about that statement. One promotion via the play-offs. Sacked from a team when in 18th.Lord Kangana wrote:Coyle has as good a record as any in this division. I reckon plenty can beat that. Big Mick for a start.

you have tipped Coyle to finish top 6, though - which is quite good for an utterly inept disaster of a manager who has no clue whatsoever....BWFC_Insane wrote:Not quite sure about that statement. Based on the players Wigan have got on paper yes. We'll see what happens. Shit managers can get lucky with situations for a short time at least. They've kept the majority of their squad apart from Kone and been able to spend. Feck me even Coyle will have to work hard to completely balls it up there this season.thebish wrote:you have tipped Coyle to finish top 6, though - which is quite good for an utterly inept disaster of a manager who has no clue whatsoever....BWFC_Insane wrote:Not quite sure about that statement. so - Coyle is capable of managing decent players to the top six?BWFC_Insane wrote:Based on the players Wigan have got on paper yes. We'll see what happens. Plenty? Who else has had more than one promotion from this division?BWFC_Insane wrote:Not quite sure about that statement. One promotion via the play-offs. It didn't take you long to pick up the scent of a Coyle & Big Mick discussionBL3 wrote:Plenty? Suspect BL3 meant "managing in the Championship this season coming"...But I'm sure he can answer for himself.Beefheart wrote:Megson? Holloway? Bruce? Jewell? Anyhow, if that's the case, would expect Coyle's Wigan to walk it as there's nowt to beat. Bit like last season and Coyle's Bolton.
The one major difference that Wigan have, is they don't have a squad full of Coyle signings.
Re: Championship 2013/14 Predictions
I think Wigan will do well this season. We all know that the happy, clappy management style that is Owen Coyle does well for the first twelve months before the rot kicks in.

Re: Championship 2013/14 Predictions
There are several managers who have won this division who are currently managing in it. Some who have achieved automatic promotion.
I'm not sure a record of one play-off win then sacked midway through a season with the league favourites in 18th can be described as "as good as anyone".
However, he has luckily stumbled upon a good squad for this level at Wigan. He may scrape by this season. I'd not expect him to achieve long term success there though, far from it.

Re: Championship 2013/14 Predictions
I picked the three coming down to do well not because they're good, but because the rest of this league is dire woeful pish all kindsa shite. Competitive though. So that's good.

Yep. People confuse competitive with a good standard. Everybody likes to get the ball down and play, but it's a poor standard of football.

Re: Championship 2013/14 Predictions
[quote="BWFC_Insane"]Ok so we're less than 2 weeks away now. The early start makes it a bit strange as there is still a long way to go in the transfer window, but still. What are your predictions for the upcoming Championship season (just for fun)?
1)Barnsley, Birmingham, Blackburn, Blackpool, Bolton and Bournemouth. As that is what the table looks like at the moment.
2) 5th
3) Adam Bogdan - we don't have a clue on this one.
4) Adam Bogdan
5) Zach Clough - I think he is massively overhyped

The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.
