Uddersfield lost to this lot 4-2. We lost 0-2. In my maths that is Uddersfield=BWFC=me not happy.

Did we have a match goer tonight, to put it in perspective with a quick rundown please?

Me. It weren't very good.TANGODANCER wrote:Did we have a match goer tonight, to put it in perspective with a quick rundown please?
They played nice stuff. We couldn't get the ball. When we did Andrews gave if away. When we did get it and Andrews didn't give it away, Medo did.
Played at half place most of the time.
If we play like that next week we will be in huge trouble. However one would have to assume that we won't.
Re: Pre Season Friendlies
Just got back. Was a nice light hearted atmosphere tonight and I didn't hear any boo's whatsoever. Everyone clapped the Betis goals etc..
Tonight was a good work out for the lads. Betis are a very good team with the ball. Very Arsenal like. We played some nice stuff here and there and defended pretty well apart from the first goal and Zat Knight doing his usual shite once or twice allowing playing straight through the middle of the defence and allowing playing to run down the side of him. The second goal from Betis was a cracking freekick but I called it before it happened with the gaping goal Bogdan showed him. Never got why goalkeepers leave a big gap on one side.
Tierney and Baptiste look the part and will do a job for us this coming season. Both seem like no nonsense defenders and don't mess about.
The only other thing to really mention is Beckford who looked good when he come on. Instantly made a run into the box and put himself where he should be. Two or three times he got in really good positions and you can see that he is a real poacher and will score plenty.
Overall an enjoyable night and it feels good to be back at the Bok.

Baptiste looked a bit off the pace to me.
Tierney looked good and Hall seems dangerous.

I was sat in line with the box we attacked second half. Beckford's movement was first class. Looked more dangerous than Sordell did in the previous 70 or so minutes. Beckford headed one just over off a freekick as well near the end.
I really like Hall and think he will be a massive player for us this coming season. Overall as a unit, we look very dangerous when going forward.

Re: Pre Season Friendlies
See Nixon has gone to twitter not with a rumour, but an opinion, saying how last night showed how short we are in terms of being promotion contenders with the squad as it stands. Talking about needing Spearing, Moritz etc.
The BN are also writing that it feels as though we are missing key aspects.
Is Dougie using the press in his campaign for further buys?

Yep he did mention how we hadn't replaced Dawson.thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote: Is Dougie using the press in his campaign for further buys?

I guess Allardyce used the press in this way. Dougie strikes me as more a driven and determined Allardyce type, prepared to moan until he gets what he wants than an Owen Coyle happy clappy we've got the greatest squad in the world type.
Could be wrong like. Just the impression I get.

i shouldn't imagine eddie davies is swayed by what he reads on Nixon's twitter-feed...BWFC_Insane wrote:Yep he did mention how we hadn't replaced Dawson.thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote: Is Dougie using the press in his campaign for further buys?

More like Megson playing a patently unready Danny Ward?BWFC_Insane wrote:I guess Allardyce used the press in this way. so...
now we've done the shuffling through combinations and fitness work... having watched it all - who does Dougie pick for the Burnley game?

I think what he'd like to do is pick the side from last night with Spearing in for Andrews and NGog in for Sordell.thebish wrote:so...

If that isn't possible then I think it will be the side from last night with LCY in for either Hall or Andrews from the off.

Regardless of any of it, somebody who can keep the opposition from scoring and find their net a couple of times. I know it's a big ask....thebish wrote:so...
