Where are they now? John McGinlay

Found a site that doesn't have any scouts listed for Wigan, but then maybe that's because bobby took them with him, and he'd have been daft not to, really.
Us on the other hand;

Raúl Zárate. Chief Analyser. Aged 23 (Really? :shock:)
Dean Austin. Scout. Aged 43
Clive Richards. Scout. -
Alan Harper. .Scout. Aged 52
Terry Daracott. Scout. Aged 62
Bill Green. Scout. -

Ex spurs' Dean Austin?

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

I can only assume he number crunches data supplied by the scouts who (again, an assumption) fill out detailed data rather than the instinctive narrative stuff we all would do.

Then again, he may be a genius ... or someone at the club's son !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Dean Austin was sacked by Freedman whilst at Crystal Palace and left not long after Freedman's arrival at the Reebok. He left us of his own volition to become Keith Curle's assistant at Notts County, a short lived appointment as Curle and his staff got shifted out not long after Austin arrived. He now works for a crowd named 'New Challenge Partner' at 'La Sala Group', whatever that is.

Not sure how out of date that list is, as it also doesn't include Chief Scout David Sclanders.

Odd to see the name Terry Darracot there. Not heard of him in years and then twice in one week. Been dealing with an old team mate of his who's fallen on hard times and who spoke about him in glowing terms this week

Chief analyser could be 23 – it's a young science. It is, as noted, number-crunching on already-specified targets.

Lots of these roles are being advertised, many of them unpaid interns. Wigan were advertising for three unpaid interns in the analysis dept - before OC took over (insert brother-on-law joke).

Its called work experience and it doesn't do a lot for the youngster unless they get a job out of it which nowadays they don't often.

I thought internships had to be paid. Maybe your right or maybe Wigan have not advertised it properly.

Independent article: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/ho ... 70538.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Link, etc, at this tweet: https://twitter.com/pmarques82/status/3 ... 0905585664" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Doesn't say unpaid but does hashtag "work" and "experience"

More here, although the job link is now dead: https://twitter.com/david_conn/status/3 ... 2323015680" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

At MCFC you can get £20-£30k for analysing the U15s... :shock: http://www.prozonesports.com/about-us-careers.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yes. Him. Didn't know that he played more games for Palace than he did for Spurs. In fact, I didn't know that he'd ever played for anyone other than for Spurs.

Wasn't that more to do with - work for nowt else you don't get any benefits, rather than companies offering genuine a internment to students?

A mate of mine that's gone back to uni has just done an unpaid stint for the real life Malcolm Tucker (who, apparently, is an objectionable c*nt beyond your wildest imaginings).
